Hell of a clutch. Loved mine, but it's going to FIND the weak point behind it. Be prepared.

Which brings me to my next question... Mike, what kind of driveshaft do you have? :D

Well its not gonna be the DS or rear end since it has a S60 and Strange CM DS. The tranny im sure will give out sooner or later, then its time to build that too.
Its the damn most expensive clutch i have ever seen though so it better last forever!!

Holy crap!!! I feel much better!!!! I figured I might as well do it right. Its gonna back my 396 stroker/N20 motor Im working on also :)! That wont be ready this year though :(
How is the pedal with a twin disc clutch? Is it on/off like a spec 3 in a mustang or can you find a happy medium that makes it streetable without getting jumpy....if you know what im saying.

Thanks!
It should feel pretty good. Its called "street twin". Isnt the spec 3 & 4 recommend as race clutches?

Don't mistake it just because of it's name. The street twin is actually a very on/off type clutch. It is definitely bearable but many people would not want to DD with it.
I on the other hand will ;) haha

I DD my Street Twin and have no regrets. It doesn't like slipping much but it only took me one drive to get used to it.

It's an on/off with the ST, and it's a LOT heavier than stock, but you get used to it.

Thanks Chris!
agreed on comments above, it is slippable, but very on/off. I have been upping my idle, and am going to put it a 1000 next time i plug in, otherwise with this cam its way too jumpy at 800-850 idle. I dont think youll have any problems with the T56 if you know how to drive, a local to me had a 1200hp LT1 with a stock T56 and didnt break it, and didnt slip his street twin, if that tells you anything

glad to see you come in Mike and get the last detail addressed :) The clutch is obviously a whole new feeling from stock, but I have never seen them as on/off type deal.
SPEC on the other hand yes and this goes for their new Twin setups as well
The thing we like most about the Mcleod is there is little to no chatter.
you will be very happy with your choice Mike
BTW: thanks for the magazines :metal:

mine chatters like hell, any way to stop that shit! id LOVE to put it back in without all that. i broke it in then the car stayed in and out of the shop for so long that i dont remember much more about it other than it is a BITCH to drive with a sloppy locker in the rear, speed shifting felt like i got hit in the rear end by a Semi. my other prob was the leaky master cyl but after i got that replaced for free by MC with their new design it was a flawless pedal :)...
even after all that bitching i still loved mine and will NEVER have any other clutch in my car.

I'm in agreement with Larry here. I just took mine out for a drive for the first time this year and I was throughly amazed at how well mannered the clutch is. I think it drives better than my stock clutch and it's 10,000X more driveable than my old RAM/Steel flywheel setup (I am running the aluminum McLeod flywheel). I have it set up so that it engages barely off the floor (my clutch pedal is probably an 1" to 1.5" below the brake pedal). It takes up almost immediately off the floor but I don't consider it an on/off deal at all. Oh, and best of all absolutely no chatter whatsoever!!!!
I absolutely love the clutch. $ well spent!
