I'm going to test to make sure it is the opti today, but the car has 116k miles and I'm sure it has to be it. I'll be doing the switch to the vented opti but every thread I have found links to http://para.noid.org/~muttvette/opti.html which doesn't exist anymore. Does this parts list look okay to you? I'll be ordering from GMpartsdirect.com most likely. I still have my stock cam from my '95 Z so I'll be using that. Anything else I should add to the list? Thanks!
1104032 95-97 Optispark (vented)
12130319 95-97 Optispark electrical harness (ordering from EFIconnection)
12555323 95-97 Optispark vent & vacuum harness
12552426 1995 Front cover (includes seals)
10474278 Optispark o-ring 2x
10483139 Ignition Control Module (may not need, but rather replace
everything while I am in there)
10128343 Water pump gasket
10128293 Front cover gasket
10128485 Stock timing chain
10206039 Stock cam sprocket
10128346 Stock crank sprocket
I haven't checked part numbers, but your list looks complete to me.

I've been back and forth with that.. Worth getting a reman or just a new water pump?

I went with new. Maybe get that instead of the ICM. The ICM can be gotten to alot easier than the water pump.

What about the crank/cam sprockets, are they actually a wear item? I remember from my cycling days that the chain and cogset were to be replaced at the same time, is that the same idea here or are the stock ones fine (assuming the '93 is the same as '95+, I only found one part number).

I haven't done that with mine? I didn't take off that cover to look either.
Might not be a bad think to do when i change my Opti in April.

Because with my luck I would do the swap and 5,000 miles later the water pump would fail and take out my new opti.
What are your opinions on the MSD cap and rotor? At CZ28.com there are some that like it, and others that don't.

I replace things if i am in there. If the wp goes then my new opti goes. I get my opti last year from Allignition from ebay. The part was not as advertised. So i have a replacement from the Allpartsladi off ebay which has alot of support from the cz28 guys. The part came in and looks great. I paid 277 for it after shipping!

Yes, I've been a member on CZ28 for a few years longer than I have here and it has been a lot of help. The reason I came up with that parts list is because I wanted to switch over to vented opti. Well, a lot of experienced members over there are recommending MSD 8481 vented cap and rotor for my '93. My Z is my daily driver and this would save a LOT of downtime if it fixed it.
I'm strongly debating on whether or not I should just buy a cap and rotor, new harness and a water pump and call it a day.

if you change your cam you'll also need intake manifold and valve cover gaskets
