I just put pacesetter headers on this past weekend.
They did not fit that well.
They are rubbing the drivers side motor mount and i was told they might put a hole in the header now and my steering shaft hits it when i turn the wheel. Has anybody had this problem and what did you do to fix it?

thanks for the help.

you have to buy a different motor mount, and i have never heard of the steering shaft problem that could be bad, you dont have to turn for the 1/4 :D jk jk.. maybe someone else with pacesetters knows, i have never heard of that with the steering shaft good luck man!

You shouldn't have to buy a different mount, but you may need new mounts.

The steering shaft should just be the "fins" or "ears" on the joint portion... mine scraped there a bit, I just bent them inwards

I bent one ear not the other.
New mounts will fix it or raise the motor so it does not hit.

thanks.

That sucks. My boss has Pacesetter LT's on his car and he told me the plastic shroud on the steering shaft had to be left off, and he has terrible ground clearance @ stock ride height.

My Hooker LT's are great! The only thing I've ever heard good about the Pacesetter's are the price....

Yea forgot about that shroud, mine is also off... The ground clearance isn't too bad.. but I'm on stock 16 year old springs so my car acts like it's lowered, only time I hit or scrape is on larger speed bumps

I took off the plastic shroud. Its just excess weight

I left off the shroud as well, the ground clearance is bad. I can no longer clear speed bumps without scraping.

are you lowered? if not then Motor mounts may help that too

Im sure he doesnt have the plastic still on, He needs to lossen up the steering coloum and slide it towards the drivers side a bit. It wont be noticable from the inside.

My car has eibach prokit, pace setter longtubes and off road y. I had to grind the motor mounts a little for clearance, I did leave the plastic thing off the steering shaft and don't have any other issues in the engine compartment. But ground clearance isn't the greatest seems to scrape on air lol

lowered with lt's here. I can get over most speedbumps going very slowly. Only thing that scrapes is the y. Its really not THAT bad

I'm kind of looking for a front clip to use for making headers---could be from a wreck or whar ever--just enough to duplicate the car from trans mount to steering and be able to mount brake booster, etc so when headers are done that they will fit into the car

any one with something Northern Ill?

The only issue I had with my Pacesetters was they were to close to the DS floor support.
