I cant play burned CD's on my Bose radio in my 05 Trailblazer. I heard its a somewhat common probem but theres a way to fix it. My father has the same radio in his 05 Silverado and it also does not allow burned CD's to be played.. What do I need to do to fix it and/or what kind of CD's do I need to get? I've been using some no-name CD-R brand.

THANKS!

Burned CDs usually work in the SS, I've had worse luck in the Z71. I hate it because my CDs get torn up in the car and I hate leaving retail CDs in the car.

I'm just going to hook up my ipod adapter in the Z71. (Plays thru auxiliary button like a CD player and charges the ipod. :))

What kind of radio do you have in your truck? Does it play burned CD's though?

I'm thinking about hooking up something to play my MP3 player on, but I dont know what to look for. Its a sony 4gb Walkman mp3 player.

Looks like this:

The headunit in my truck looks exactly the same as the one in my '97 Camaro Z28 (Bose w/ Tape Deck and wired for a stock cd changer but no cd changer) except this one has a CD player in the center console.

It's wierd, I had a copy of a CD in the CD player forever and it got really scratched up and skipped a lot so I made another copy and it won't play... It trys to load then the HU says "err" and spits it out. The CD brands were different and the retail CD plays fine so who knows.

I'm going to hook up my "Ipod2Car" that I ran on my '97 Z28. (Made by Peripheral Electronics - http://peripheralelectronics.com/)

Oh well, I'll be able to access pretty much my whole audio library via my ipod once I install it. I just don't want to tear apart my dash. :jest:

You might check this out: http://www.peripheralelectronics.com?ProductId=91

Just keep in mind it won't charge your mp3 player. BE SURE to read any compatibility disclaimers on the site; the ipod2car adapter I have won't work on my SS and the disclaimer said. "*Only Models with Tape Deck" under '97 Camaro. I tried it on the SS since I had it and it didn't work. A bummer, but I don't feel like taking the CD Player out for a tape deck just to hook up my ipod.

i think it depends on the brand of the cd player and the brand of the cds you used.I sometimes have that problem if i use a certain brand on vice vera.

Do you know what CD brand you used that worked? And were they CD-R or CD-RW's?

CD-R's work just fine, but RW's won't work in either of my GM vehicles.

They dont work in my Vette either, they do work in the WS6 but that has a 10 disk changer in the back.

Now I am both confused and pissed off.

I tried a burned CD that was old in there.. and it worked. Tried another one... and it didnt.. Kept going through different CDs to see what worked and what didnt.

I found a blank CD of the same kind that worked in the truck. I burned the music to the CD, and it didnt work!

I give up! If I cant play a damn CD what good is having a freaking 6 DISC CD changer when I cant even get 1 to work?

Yup, it could be many things, the burning software you use, the quality of the burn (typically, the slower you burn it the better quality), the disc quality/type, etc. Meh. I typically use it on a new CD for a week or so then I'll take the cd out and put it away before it gets scratched up beyond belief.

My cousins explorer wouldnt play his burned cds and he had to change the disk type from mp3 to cd or something like that.
He just basically changed the burn settings and it worked because his cd player wont play mp3 files on a cd.
Maybe you can play around with the settings and get it to work.

Yeah iTunes worked for me and now it doesn't. IDK. When I get back home I'm just gonna grab the Tape deck to earjack thing in the box of stuff I took out of the OBS when I sold it.
