what is everyone's thought on adding LCA relocation brackets to a car that IS NOT lowered?

its a great idea, it helps with traction a lot, get a pair of lower control arms to and a lot of the Fbody traction problems are gone, it helps plant the wheels instead of the car squating.

The whole idea of them is to put the rear LCA's in a downward angle toward the rear end. This works with the axles tendency to rock backward by translating that into downward force that drives the tires into the pavement.

relocation brackets should be a requirement when install LCAs.

besides your a loser for not lowering, and when you decide you should lower it shits already been done

I was getting 1.9 60s on 245/45/zr17 street tires after I put a torque arm, relocation brackets and lower control arms on my car, I actually ran faster with street tires than slicks, the slicks hooked to hard with all the suspension work and made my engine bog down since my trans/converter was stock.

Do the hose mod on the rear and pick up a 3/4-1" lowering spring in the front. That should look okay.

And your a homofaggot for not lowering it.

Actually when we designed the extreme sets people use today it was after realizing ALL the forward motion is carried through the LCA's.

The way they work is when you accelerate the rear end pushes FORWARD on the LCA's and UP on the TQ arm. if the LCA angle is UP fromt the rear end to the Chassis the rear tires are driven DOWN into the pavment and traction is a result.

When we came up with this design I started with a car slammed 2in+ and a 4 degree angle.

The car went from 1.9 60fts to 1.7 60s with NO other changes and ran 4/10ths faster.

I posted up on CZ28 and over that winter I was contacted by some of the people everyone buys parts from now and in the spring of 1999 everyone was using them ;)

They work so good I drove them damn near into the nines with a standard style TQ arm mounted on the trans. and 1.4 60ft times.

Do they work? if built correctlt better then any other mod we have tried ;)

Last year I added a MADMAN TQ arm and light wieght CM parts to go with the same set I have been using forever ;)

on a car that has not been lowered just about any of the ones you can buy will work. if your car is lowered...not so well ;)

so you guys came up w/ this part? that's crazy, did you get a patent? lol

See our sponsors, UMI has some, plus they're not too expensive.

The only thing out at the time was the metco brakets for lowered cars and they only came with the Metco LCAs. most people did not use them. We took the idea nad engineered it to work in a different way. To give you an idea ours are six inches long ;)

Patens cost a ton of money and do not really do alot these days. to easy to get around them. We have designed tons of stuff for these cars. would be nice to have the cash from it LOL

We may have a line of stuff coming out in the next year. we just need to find a cost effective place to do the work ;)

BTW I have found most of the time the LCA reloactors are not installed correctly and off to one side ;)

Anywhere that sells suspension componets BMR, UMI, etc. I would get the weld in ones. I guess you could get the bolt in ones and weld em later but I think that would cost more.

the weld in are cheaper, I got mine from spohn but i can drive there in 15 min so its no big deal for me.

UMI is running 10% off on their stuff now until tomorrow (15th). I just ordered some bolt ins along with LCAs and an adjustable panhard bar. Was only $289 with free shipping.

LCA relocation brackets are almost a necessity with lowered cars. The benefit of adding reloc. brackets on a lowered car is not quite as high as adding it to a stock height car is what he's saying.

ok...i wasnt really confused before...now im confused. a lowered car WILL benefit from the reloc. kits, but i was just confused on the install.

Im runnning the UMI brackets. The weld-ins actually come with a bolt that goes into the stock location, then you weld around that which ensures everything lines up. They have 2 holes for adjustment. The car hooks and books!

Can usually find a set floating around the 'For Sale' sections.
