I had 3 LS1s before my LT1.
87 Buick regal with a 6.0L, 4l80 combo
stock longblock
224/224, 283/293 .565" on a 112lsa
3200 stall
Borg Warner 75mm turbo at 12psi
HPTuners 2-bar SD tuning
9" with 3.07 gears and spool
that car would do bottom 12s all day on some firestone radial, bottom 11s on DRs on low boost. Was running E85 before i sold it and was making in the neighborhood of 650whp. Never lost a street race with that one.
04 GTO, black/black M6
224/224, 283/293 .565" on a 112lsa
headers
dual 3" magnaflow
GMMG shifter
SD tuning with HP Tuners
nitrous
did 540whp, 510wtq on a 125whp shot, ran 12.20s@115 on motor, 11.85@121+ on a 100 shot, both on the factory tires.
02 WS6, black/black A4
headers, exhaust, nitrous, some suspension. That car would do high/mid 11s on a 100shot on the street tires

Hey Gary,

I posted on your Buick's for sale thread. Did you sell this car?

Nice ride Dave! Did that already come with their speedo conversion by any chance?

no, unfortunately it only came with what they offered in 2001, so the parts it does not include are the speedo conversion and torque arm.

I was talking to JR Granatelli about doing the speedo conversion, but he kinda dropped the ball on making me an appointment. I have met him, and I talk to him on the phone from time to time. We usually just email back and forth.

I am inheriting a 2002 WS6 Trans Am in a couple weeks... my fiancee's.

It's a 402 Iron block, T56, 12 bolt, rear-turbo car.

It's also a pain in my ass, as I've said before!

I've also got a 5.3 LSx Silverado Z71.

1.I would have to race it first!
2.I dont make up shit either.
3.Its only 500 pounds,
4.Its got 12 yrs more tech and a LSx with way more power.
5. I thought LSXs were the fastest no matter what.
6.Dont be pissed I was just thinking it would be faster. I had a 00 LS1 Formula too with very minor bolt ons that went 12.7s at 108. with stock manifolds and cats and coverter on the car. I just like LT1s better and went back to them.

You compared 1/4 mile times of your stock M6, 3.42's, 3500lb, 2 door sports car to a stock 4100lb, 4 door sedan, with IRS and probably a 2.92 gear, and only "got" him by .09 of a second. As I said...you must be so proud!

Hell yes it makes me proud my 12 yr old car can still hang with Pontiacs best most powerful car the offer today.

Also you act as if the tuning is a bad thing. LSXs run very efficent and make way more HP on less gas than a pig rich LT1.

My car sucks at launching too. Best 60ft was a 2.24 so far. Far from desirable.
These gotta be the biggest doors you can find on a 2 door car. My race weight is about 3600 with me in the car.

Im not saying its not fast just suprised it could still keep up.

In response to #5 I also think that is a ridiculous opinion and thats EXactly why I posted in the first place. If I thought LSXs were so much better I would still have one.

That pass was with less than 3000 miles on the car and in horrible weather conditions.

As said before raceweight and weather are the difference in our times....I have also ran 4 consecutive 14.0x passes lifting around the 1000' in a recent 14.0 index race. ;)

The car now has close to 7000 miles on it and the weather is getting better....I will have it back on the track soone and I am expecting 13.50's @ 104 or so.

As far as the car making more power, it does, but the stock tune is severely limiting its drag strip performance. The shifts take forever and TQ mgmt is killing power down low.

Thats more along the lines of what I was thinking it would run. I used to manully shift my auto a few hundred RPMs early so it would shift on time. I got my best runs that way. I tried leaving it in 3rd but the shifts were just to long and would kill my 1/4 times.
How did it 60ft?

My bro has a 4.8L RCSB chevy that went 16.0x at 89.. he got owned by torque management though. Consistant 2.4x 60' only because it would NOT go any faster.

It does have the 243 heads though, so theres some potential.

Thats still pretty sweet for even getting screwed over, quick little truck there :D

Wish my slow ass dakota was that fast (Never have run it, but I will. I am going to assume ahead of time that it wont be good though :D)

EDIT : Although I give my little body lifted/33" Tires/Intake and Exhaust 4.7 credit, it almost spanked a Mazda 6 uphill last week. He was at my rear tires until about 80 when he pulled me (When we reached the top of the hill) from about 20-25. It was pretty sad.
