Ok guys,
The car I'm getting has a Moroso CAI with a Trick Flow elbow.
Would I gain anything buy going to a LS1 lid setup?
Who has had a similar setup and switched?
thanx

I had a few of them i think the moroso is the least worthy of the bunch, i swapped them at the track (moroso vs.Lid) picked up 2tenths and 1.5 mph......some will argue that there is no dyno proof that the lid actually made more power but proof enough is the time slips i had a solid 2tenths gain, screw a dyno they are for tuning and masterbating ones emotions.

Thanks!
I think I'll sell the stuff for an LS1 lid swap.
When you guys are doing this, are you using the LS1 base too, or just the lid, filter, fernco, etc?

Well, the only way you will get the entire Ls1 assembly to fit would be to do a hood swap on Ls1tech REVALATIONZ28 IS THE first to have a hood clear the assembly(4" cowl).......I was unsure of which hood i was going to put on my car so i went ahead and cut the core support. if you follow this link http://www.lt1engine.com/tech/ls1-lid-on-a-lt1-using-stock-camaro-hood/ it will make your day very easy! of course i found this AFTER i did mine.......to save a few bucks you can also use the factory Ls1 bellow, all i spent was 40.00 on a very clean SLP lid w/bellow 10.00 on metal to make a shroud and 5.00 for lunch. One of the most productive mods i have done to my car for the cash and 30 min it took...2 tenths and 1.5 mph:D

Thanks man. I have seen the lt1engine tutorial and will follow it.
I guess I need to get in my head exactly how the LS1 lid works. I guess it pulls cold air from underneath? So you have to fab a sheet metal tray for the filter to set in, then the lid sets on top?

Anyone have pics of cutting the stock hood?
