Heres mine.
Im taking mine off and getting a full size adj TA and the trans crossmember relocation kit. Im done with the floorboard banging. I have adjusted it a million times and it will seem fine then all the sudden it starts banging again.
Its construction is top notch and the theory sound great. Its the extra banging and noise I cant stand.
It will be in the classifieds soon. Pm me if your interested

Its the UMI 2203, only on the car about 1 month

I was considering getting a tunnel mounted TA but I searched all night yesterday and found out that it's not good for true duals. It's also not good for handling, so I'm just going to get a trans mounted one, and probably the relocation kit.

Plus I'm not intending for my car to be a high-horse ride and strictly drag.

I does works extremely good. My car corners much better with it and gets much more traction off the line. Its the noise I cant stand. Ive rechecked every bolt on it a million times also. The noise is not because its loose or not adjusted properly. Its just noisy.

I have a drag car so I can stand the noise, you cant hear it over my engine :) and i have all solid rod ends on mine no poly bushings.

Agreed, with all rod ends and dumped exhaust the noise seems minimal. I didn't setup the suspension to "ride nice"!

On a DD with full exhaust I could see how it could become anoying.

You can actually hear the floor board flex/pop/bang and its loud. Road noise is not the problem. Its very smooth on the road. But the floor board banging and sheet metal flexing and popping is terrible since its a DD for now.

I had my chassis mount TA before I did all this work and I never had a problem with any noises like that.

IMHO they are pretty much a race part ;) A good Trans mounted TQ Arm is great for the street. I ran one down to 10.0x and 1.4 60fts

The chassis mounted TA's do tend to transmit more noise being body mounted. I would keep in mind the relocation cross member and std. style torque can do the same. The reason being is it's practically the same thing.

you know longer have both the trans mount and torque arm mount absorbing the load/noise with either setup

The least amount of noise would be a std. mount T/A and most last a fair amount of time. I have seen a few stock TA brackets mangled and tailshaft housings broke, but it was on cars with hard track duty.

I will have to agree that with a DD I would have a stock style adj. TA on my car.

Took mine off and ordered a new UMI Full length TA today. Still debating on the trans/crossmember relocation mount to get it off the trans.

Got it on. Feels great. No vibrations or banging. Just feels solid and planted to the ground.

Good to hear!!

I had to clearance the underside of the flr pan a little back close to the rearend mount. It was rubbing the drivers side of the tunnel. Its all rod end stuff so its noisy anyway...I dont drive it everyday so I just deal with it:) Seems to do the trick at the track!

The Tunnel Mounted worked very good. Just sucked for a DD.
I also now think the trans mounted TA also ties together the Trans DS and rear end resulting in a lot less movement and 0 noise from the play of it moving back and forth.

I am much happier with my new Full lenght TA. It seems to do exactly what I originaly wanted my TA for, with 0 noise. I dont even think Ill get the relocation crossmember for it. If I do ever break the tail shaft Ill deal with it then, but I highly doubt that will ever happen anyways.

You can put rubber or something there in between the t/a mount and the body of the car? Or will this make it feel lose? Just a thought...

Might help some with noise but I would think it would be easier to pull the bolts right out of the floor pan though.

I hated my tunnel brace mounted arm too.
I think the BMR idea of mounting the arm front to a welded crossmember to the frame connectors would be the best of both worlds. No sheetmetal mounting for noise issues andstrong tied into the frame structure. Just expensive and more work. Depends how muh you "need" the torque arm to do.
I'll be getting the UMI adjustable trans mounted for my street/strip car.
