Sucks for everyone especially the workers and their familys, kind of a BS way to go out for a company that's been around that long. :frustrated:

Can't compete with the jap-crap on bay. Why buy quality when you can buy in bulk :(

Comp Cams really put a hurting on Crane. But Crane has been shooting themselves in the foot for the past few years as well. I think the Crane name will come back someday because they do have a strong performance aftermarket history. Once the economy recovers someone will buy the Crane name and revive it.
Honestly I hope Holley can survive...Could you imagine the performance market without Holley???

Yeah you are right about the fact that Crane has been hurting for a while. A few of my friends work for Comp and they have talked for years about how Crane was going down hill.

That sucks.. I have a feeling too that they will be back up when the economy recovers. They had some great stuff over there.

This was true. When I was a Product Manager and added Crane as a vendor of ours they were providing nearly all of the other cam companies cam cores including some OE's. Comp, Edelbrock, Lunati to name a few were getting the cores from Crane. I added Comp as a vendor in 2008 and they had grown to a point where they could source their own cores, add that to the fact Crane could not supply them to keep up with their demand and you can see what happened. I'm not sure but last I knew they were still providing the cores as well as the "red anodized" rockers to Edelbrock. Not sure about Lunati though.

Lunati is now owned by the owners and I believe they are now also using the same cam core company as Comp.
