Special thanks to Phantomzer0!! I am very impressed with the new website! Nicely done!
Hello to all the new members! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ian Kee and I own/operate KeeAudio.com. I am an online retailer for car audio, video, navigation, and installation products. I am a sponsor on some other sites (LS1Tech) and will be happy to help with any audio issues you have. I don't always have the answers to every question but I do have a pretty extensive knowledge of F-body audio systems.
Feel free to PM me or email me. Check out the website also as I have added some things like 2 speaker package deals for both Firebird and Camaro.

KEE if you dont mind me asking a question, i want to do a set of comps in my sail panels. What size am i going to need for direct replacement of the sail "sub" and where would be the best place for the tweeter. I will be running another amp for it.

Hi,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I just now saw the post. I will be checking in here alot more often from now on!!
If your still using the stock system then a comp set in the rear would be a little different as far as wiring. You could use a regular style comp set but the midbass woofer should be something that can handle some pretty good bass since the sails are bass only in your application. I have some products that would be perfect for that.
The other thing is your tweeter that you want to do in the sail area would have to be wired in from the hatch speakers since that is the closest place to pull a full range signal from. Again, this is based on using a stock Monsoon system. The tweeter should be mounted close to the midbass. One idea would be to mount it in the grill in each corner or somewhere in the sail panel just above the midbass.
IF you have an aftermarket system with aftermarket amp or even running off the radio directly or have a non Monsoon type system then you'd have full range sound front and rear and the above can be ignored.
Honestly speaking though, your main focus should be the front speakers first. A quality set of comps in the front, sail area should be fill (either some good midbass or a quality coaxial would do fine depending on what your working with), from there a good 8" or 10" sub with an amp that matches the RMS output of the sub would round out a nice sounding system. This mainly depends on how much bass you'd be looking for. Keep in mind that when it comes to subs its kind of like cam shafts, everyone always wishes they'd gone bigger. If you go with a little more then you need, you can always adjust the gain and turn it down to a level that suits you. If you don't have enough, your have to spend more money do to it over.
Let me know some more info on what you have (stock Monsoon, aftermarket this or that, etc.) and where you want to go (SQ set up, lower budget type set up but still sounds good, etc.) with your system and I can make some more specific recommendations.
