so my friend used to have a 97 TA but sold it two weeks ago and crossed over to the dark side and bought a 98 TA, just an exhaust. well i was a little worried when he told me what he got but i was like oh well lets line em' up!
so we go to the edge of town and decide on 3 different races. a dig, 25 roll, and a 55 roll.
race one was the 25 roll... he honked and we took off right about the same time and through first i had him by like 2 cars and by the end of 2nd i had him by like 4-5 lengths and then held through third to about 100.
race two was the dig... i shot him out the hole pretty bad and had at 3 car lead by the end of first and by the end of 2nd i was an easy 5 cars. and we shut down.
race three was the 55 roll... he honked this one off as well and initially took the hit and to about 80 he had me by about a car length and then around 90 i was about even and then by 100 i had him by like half a car and we shut down at 115 with me out front by a car and a half.
i was so pumped up and completely suprised by this! i didnt think i would get him, maybe somewhat close but not man handle him like i did! i've been debating on selling or doing something to my car becasue i didnt think it had the power to hang... but now i think it was just because the car wasn't running right during my last race with an LS1

Its a myth LS1s were touched by God. Ive seen plenty o slow LS1s and plenty of fast ones, just like our good ol LT1s. Great Kill!!!!! What are your mods exactly?

YouTube - exhaustthanks! i'm not over confident... i didnt think i would get close let alone beat him by 4-5 cars on avg. i ran 13.31 at international speedway in wichita, ks. and it was right after i got off the highway and with a lot of tire spin. usual bolt ons, CAI, full exhuast, QTP cutout, and baby cam. it used to be my DD, so i didnt get too drastic with it when i rebuilt it. i used to drive to salina eveyday for a year so when you put 200 miles on it a day i needed it to be bullet proof. i'm lookin into a bigger cam and gears for the ltx shootout. but stinkin tax return is takin forever! haha
but it doesnt sound too bad... i like it!
That sounds good, but wouldnt you expect it to be down in the 12's at least? How bad were the 60's with the tire spin?

both are A4s... both with 3.23s.
and my 60' was 1.95 at 1:30 am on a friday midnight test n tune. ya i wish it was in the twelves... its only pushing around 315rwhp and 345rwtq... i had the car dynoed at wichita dyno... and on spring break its getting retuned again in tulsa, ok. i seriously think it has the potiential for a high twelve but that night between me and the tires... it wasn't happening.. i trapped 107. fyi or incase you were wondering!

whats your altitude like ouy there?
i have a buddy that just moved down to witchita he has a white 82 maro that runs 9's and a pewter '00 maro. he ran supposedly the fastest car down there, a green 68-69 mustang and spanked him. have you heard of him yet?

I think it's like 1300?
Oh wow that's crazy! I haven't seen a white 82 camaro but that's not sayin much. If he lives on the west side I probably won't ever see him until the track opens. The fastest car I've seen out at the track was a nasty fox body running like high 8's, I think.

The guy who owns the car just got new tires and a lid and asked if i wanted to run them again... so we go out of town and find an area where we can line them up. i let him honk it off with my room mate at the finish line and i still had him by like 3 to 3.5 car lengths with alot if spinning! cant wait to the track opens up and he sees that not all LS1s run 13.2s.. i told him judging by the way i beat him, his car is a mid 13s car. but of course i'm wrong! haha

On a 1.94 60', I went 13.10 at 107.5 just about 1/2 bolt ons(sounds funny, right?).
Your car has more in it for sure.

The heavy ass 17x11 ZR1's. Wheel and tire is over 60 lbs per side I think. I have a set of 26x11.50's on some salad shooter for track use now. So my 60's should be better as well.

Wow, you guys are making me want to take my Formula to the track. I've never raced on a track before. I wonder what sort of times I'd get. My launches are usually pretty good with minimal wheelspin (kind of seems to need a bit to move it faster). My G Tech has never been used with this car- gotta dig that thing up....
