I'll be putting my TTII's back on tomorrow during the day, then cruising out for a quick shoot.

Larry, is there any way to powder coat wheels with the tires still on? I want to get my TTII's powder coated, similar to 1fastss's wheels. Almost the same color. The only problem is, I just can't stomach the 100 bucks from discount tire to take the rubber off, then another 100 to put the rubber back on.

I want to go with a color that is almost chrome but a bit darker.

That place is a ripoff when it comes to swapping out tires. Best bet is to do what I did and find a hole in the wall shop to do it for you. Paid $25 to have my tires swapped from my old rims to my new ones.

Don't believe you can powder coat with the tires on. The rims have to be baked after the powder is sprayed on. It's likely the tires would deform/melt/catch on fire. Unless there's some kind of new powder coating that I'm not aware of?

New hood looks great though.. Tad bit too big for my taste, but nevertheless.

Id either find a local guy who can swap 'em out for you cheap at a local dealer or wait till you need new tires then do it.

Im sure some little privately owned shop would take them off cheap. Look for somewhere that sales used tires they are usually the cheapest.

Hood looks good man. Tires do not need to come off since mine wheels were painted. My car doesn't get any DD action so I wasn't worry about them chipping at all. IMO its better to paint then to PC due to the heat the wheels have already been though in manuf. You can always touch them up after a while too.

BTW I went with a charocal paint to match as close as possible the GMMG Earnhardt car wheels...

No, the only reason he swapped was to preserve his OEM hood. They can't be bought anymore, so it was the only thing to do in case of a catastrophic event.

I would look at painting them as Chris mentioned we had done to his wheels.

$22+ is common in this area to mount and balance at a quality place, not some hole in the wall who would not care to F#*K you out of wheels if damage occured

Yeah, the stainless units from Muffinbuster on ebay. I just stuck them to a piece of aluminum then screwed that onto the grille.
