So i assume unless you live under a rock you know about the train wreck tonight. In case you didnt know, a commuter train hit a cargo train head on. on the mertolink, the engine got pushed 1/2 way into the first passenger car.
so far 20 dead and 100s injured. One LAPD officer was on the train and died, after calling 911 to report the accident.
My heart goes out to all of the victims and their families. I pray that they dont find any more bodies in the wreckage.
I also hope that nobody from this site was on that train, and noe of their family.

Everything in my house has been off from flooding, so I didn't hear about this. Holy fuck, I need to get the news on!

Wow! I was not under a rock, but rather under the Camaro all day. I just did a job in Chatsworth yesterday too.
"Most likely caused by an engineer's failure to stop the train at a red signal."

you are exactly right. the metrolink engineer missed the red.
so the body count stands at 25, including that engineer. they are reviewing the black box to see what happened, as it seems they called to warn him that he missed the light.

I heard they are checking to see whether he was texting around the time of the accident. Such a devastating, stupid error.

Texting while operating any vehicle should be illegal.
Talking without hands free in a car should also be illegal.
Too many damn idiots killing people or causing accidents from their stupid damned phones!
