So I just ran new lines to the rear and now am about to start on the front brakelines. I just got an Umi K-memeber and am wondering what you guys did for front brake lines? I guess I could rig the stock lines to fit the k-member but am unsure of what most people do??? I haven't ever seen a real thread about this so I'm thinking ppl just make the stock lines work.'

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks

Go to jakesZ28.com and route your lines the way he did. He ran the front passenger side one along the firewall and down the fenderwell. This way the line is above the motor, so for future swaps there's no need to unhook the lines and re-bleed the system. The factory should have done it this way to begin with.

ok i'll check that out later. i'll probably just see if the stock ones will fit how I like. I don't have abs so its not a big deal to bleed them.

thats a bad ass site man! I bookmarked it. Just a few questions: So now all you do is pull your caliper and tie it up before you drop the k-member? And what did you use to hold the lines tight against the firewall? I couldn't see anything securing them.

Yes, never have to bleed them again.

And what did you use to hold the lines tight against the firewall? I couldn't see anything securing them.
Most likely some small screws with clips drilled into the firewall. You won't need many, maybe 2 or 3 strategically placed ones. Brake lines are very stiff and don't move around much at all.

Before the engine went back in I think I moved the brake line a little from that picture but I used two plastic dipped steel tabs. They wrap around the line so it can't vibrate and wear a hole thru it.
