Im looking to get the harris speed works kit and i had a few questions, my car is stalled (3600) and geared (3.90) and minor bolt ons. As of right now with my tune i go through the traps in third right around 6100 (set to shift @6200). Im currently rolling on 275/50/15 et streets. I quess the main question is will i have to go with a tall tire for the big end or will i have to adjust the shift points. Im planning on a 100 shot with a window switch operating from 3800-6100. Oh and the kit is a dry single nozzle. give me your thoughts http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop/product.php?productid=16954&cat=365&page=1

If your motor is built for it, up the limiter, if not you will either have to gear down or run the taller tires

sounds as if you have a stock valvetrain
28" tire is going to be needed on the gun if so
The other option is rockers, springs and tune to up the limiter. This will then give you more useable RPM.

FWIW, go wet. The way dry kits work on an LT1 is just not the best option IMO...
You will definitely need a taller tire or you will need to up the shift points if you can.

I ranan NOS dry kit with no issues on my H/C setup, but change it out for a Nitrous Outlet plate kit for more HP on the 396 combo.
The dry kit he is is looking at has a nice controller which works off the MAF. There are many people using it will good success, so he should be alright.

Thanks guys for the info. It just sucks cause my et streets are damn near brand new but oh well i will just pick up some hoosier's (27in) or some 28's.

i would do springs, rockers and up the limiter mike. the taller tires might actually hurt you n/a. the rockers will help you with both n/a and on the gun.
are you going to run the mallory box?

yeah i plan on doing the box, and i just dont know how high to take the limiter, as of now its set to shift at 6200. If i went with a different tire it would be the hoosier QTP's that are 27in tall so that would only knock my gears down to a 3.73 or something to that fact.

a hundred shot should add around 10 or so mph thru the traps. if that helps with any decision making.

use a gear calulator to figure out how fast you want go, then determine if a gear or tires will get you there. itis always a compromise. i lose on motor, but i have the room i need on spray :)
