Been hunting down my ignition problem ever since my H/C/I swap, when I found out the hard way on the dyno that I had high RPM issues.

First I found the wires arcing like crazy. Did some searching and came to the conclusion it was from my high output MSD ignition and the spark plugs gapped too big. Went with some Autolite 104's gapped at .035 and new MSD wires. Cleaned it up a bit, but still a miss. So I pulled off the opti and found oil soaked into the cap from the inside. Looks like it was from my previous issue of a leaking WP seal. Replaced base (Autozone lifetime warranty :D) and new MSD cap/rotor. Miss gone.

Took it to get smogged. I was really worried, and rightfully so since I failed. It seems CA toughened up their smog standards since last time I was tested, and I barely failed HC at 25 mph. I had 46, max is 35 (which is strance since max at 15 mph is 50 ).

So I tightened up my header bolts, thinking it may be leaking exhaust causing a rich condition, and unplugged my high fan (running too cool, higher temps better for emissions). The guy I took it to did everything he could, and I BARELY PASSED! I was borderline at 35 HC. :finger: Not to mention he overlooked my LTs and said that as long as I had cats it was cool.

Sorry about the long post, but I'm just soooo happy. I can't wait to get it back on the dyno now and see what I'm pushing.
