I got the heads from Jim@TPiS, I then dropped them off with Bryan@LME. I went with their street/strip port job, mill and gasket match. The heads still have some potential left in them but after talking with Bryan this would be ideal for the set up I am running. It was cool to see they wanted to get me the best performance and value for the set up. I hope to start the install come March when i get back from off shore. I have a feeling this sucker is going to mean for what it is and should run hard on the bottle. The cam is a Comp CC306 and the intake manifold was originally ported by MTI back in the late 90s, I planto send it on up to silver ghost for some powder coating. Flow numbers are kind of like dyno numbers, don't mean shit going down the track but since that is going to be the first question and what most people will look at:
.100 88/69
.200 141/110
.300 190/145
.400 230/177
.500 265/193
.550 274/199
.600 280/206
.650 288/212

Silver ghost is a good guy! Great prices! He did Larry's intake and was gonna do mine but I ran out of time and just painted it. Hes like 10 min from my house.

Talk to Brian. He can work with cam motions and they can get you a better cam. I went with what he said and when your beating bikes and people say thats a small block you can just laugh. Thats what I did this year.
But then again I told Brian I wanted the most power I could get out of the heads I was running.

Those heads should work well Neil. Those mid lift numbers are pretty decent.

This is kind of the test monkey set up, I dont know how long the stock short block will live and I would like to spray it. I think when and if I build a short block, I'll go custom, until then, this should fine.

I can't wait to here your car go thumpety thump.
And yes, I know you want the 306 based purely on "history" :D
Keep the 306 in good shape... maybe I'll be ready for a bigger cam about that time :)

Don't worry, if he keeps the 306 I'll have mine for sale when my turbo setup is in about a month or so from now
p.s. nice flow numbers and get pics :)

Already have the CC306, it should work well, I have been around that cam for a really long time in just about every modified LT1, it makes power on motor and works well on the gas.

Just hope I get it done in time, 2.02/1.60, LME on the valve job.

Ordered the H/C gasket package from Thunder, shipped my intake manifold to Powder Pro to be coated. Hope to tear in to the car when I get back from off shore early March. The goal of this swap is also to replace a lot of the nickel and dime worn out stock parts at the same time. Heater hoses, radiator hoses, radiator, ditch the stock accy bracket for a Speed Inc one....
