View Full Version : Had a few races over the weekend!

I raced my buddies 99 V6 Mustang (I guess he likes losing because this is like the 5th race between the two of us). It was epic... We were on our way to his cottage and we were taking a 2 lane highway. No cars in sight. He was following behind me, I see him go out into the passing lane, and procede to fly past me with a shitty grin. I'm like "OOOHHH HELL NO!!!".. floor it, catch back up and put bus lengths on him. :laugh:

Next race, comming home from his cottage, one of my other friends has a 07 Grand Prix GXP. He's been talking and thinks he could beat my Formula with it. I knew it was going to be a way better race than with the Mustang, so I was down. He said "I dont really want to race you today" before we left, which I said was cool with me. We get back onto the highway, and sure enough... He tried the same crap with me!! Flies past me, and once again, I procede to follow. Wasnt as easy this time. He was probibly going a good 20mph faster than I was when I hit it. So I reel him in, and as soon as I'm about a half car back, he left off (about 105ish). I am counting it as a win since if we would have raced fairly, I probibly would have had 4 cars on him by that point. I was playing "catch-up" with the both of them.

I'll try to get the next series of races on camera. Its pretty funny eitherway though with my friends Mustang. He always trys it, and it never works. :laugh:

It always sucks playing catch up, because they always feel like they won because they stayed in front, but half the time when you're about to amtrack them they see it coming and let off and act like they won

He wanted to mod it at first, but being the good friend that I am... I've got through to him that its not worth modding one, and to save his money for something worth modding (Cobra, Z28, T/A, etc.)

Theres a local that has a supercharged 99-04 V6 mustang. Its actually pretty damn fast. I think hes running 13.3's with it now. But for the most part though.. Modded V6 Mustangs = :poo:

There's been some pretty serious V6s running around Houston over the years.

BTW, the pontiac MIGHT have hit a speed limiter at 110... I know that's where my Dad's Bonneville SSE was limited.

I saw his brake lights go on. I dont think he hit the speed limiter.

i know a guy who had a v6 with supercharged and nos on the side. it was a v6 with spray. but like 12 cars on him. he sold it, bought a white ws6, totalled it, and is selling me the dash :). (he fails)

Well... We raced again tonight.. This time comming home from a hockey game. His passenger recorded another one of his failed attempts to beat me :laugh:.

Definately not very good quality.. But you get the point. This was the Mustang BTW.

Thats my Formula in the other lane.. He tried flying past me again tonight, and I didnt let that happen for long. You can pretty much only see him pass my car (the headlights are pretty much the only thing you can see), and after a few seconds I come flying past him (you can see the tail lights on my Formula). IK, not a very good video at all... But it still shows how badly I beat him. :laugh:

Yeah, I find it pretty amusing. He tries it all the time.. Not allways full out races, but he tries it on a regular basis. :laugh:

I sometimes wonder too... He's only beaten me in 1 race in our history of races, and that was before I had my Formula and had my old 3.4L V6 Camaro. After he beat me, I put it up for sale not too long after and told him "From this point on, you will no longer have a faster car than me".

To this day, it stands true. :laugh:

lol if he ends up buying a faster car than yours, you will have to step up the mods lol.. or just get some spray or something! lol.. I have a couple friends that I absolutley do not want them to have a faster car than me.. like most people I think hey if they have a faster car than thats cool.. but a select few Im like they CANNOT be faster than me!! Lol

Yeah, I think I'm eventually going to have my work cut out for me. He wants to buy a 03/04 Cobra in a year or so.... I Might have to buy a LS1 T/A and start modding that then. We'll worry about that when the time comes around :laugh:.
