Works of art!!!!!
Here's mine just arrived yesterday.

A look down the intake port. I can stick my fingers in and feel the transition between where they cnc from the intake side down in, and where it meets up with cncing from the chamber up on the short side radius. VERY smooth transition.

A look at the exhaust. I fondled it for a few mintues, very sexy. Notice the 8mm stem. EXTRA FLOW for the win!!!

Chamber detail.

Notice the quarter for size reference. These valves are BIG. That's lint on them btw, there is a light mist of oil or something on the valves.

I will be building a new motor within the next few months. I want to get the big $$$ items taken care of first and heads are #1.

Honestly I got the heads for a song. AFR has weird pricing policies for their dealers. It seems like dealers are not allowed to advertise their lowest prices. These list everywhere for around $2000.00 .

I paid exactly $1864, they are the 227cc Race-cnc Eliminators. You can choose a 55cc or a 65cc chamber and get them set up with several different spring setups for no additional charge. You can't port a set of stock heads that will touch these, and these can go bigger.

Oh, and I answered all pm's about my old TFS heads. At the moment I do not want to part that motor out. I still plan to run it for a little while and get my car into the low 11's. That's the plan anyway.

I cant believe that you wasted your money on AFR's!!!! You know that AI's are just as good if not better for your application!!!! Talk to all the cab drivers they'll tell ya!:D j/k
Very nice, now get them hand finished by a proven pro for ultimate performance..:metal:

Damn! I have the older 227's and have been wanting the new Eliminators! I think I will wait for the 235's to come out though!

Congrats on the heads!

Funny, post this on LS1tech and have everyone tell you your an idiot and LE or AI ported stockers are wai better!! Some of those guys are retarded, hard to beat the AFR 227s, those things are sick. Even more so at that price

Are these GEN I heads or are they made for the LT1?

They are made for the LT1. If you look closely at the first pic you can just make out:

227 LT
65 cc

on the left hand side of the left head.

Looks like I found a good set to go on my turbo car next semester :) and it will put my compression where I want it, so I'll be able to run a ton more boost hehe

p.s. those are gorgeous :)

this is the pair that require the offset rockers right? Or has that changed with the new series? They look sexy, can't wait to see your results.

Those are great looking heads. I've been looking at them for my 383 build. Are they the #1076 heads? What do you plan to run for an intake manifold?

Well........not entirely. To correctly use them you SHOULD run the offset jesel or T+D shaft rockers. You CAN run them with regular rockers but you will need to run a stud girdle on top of them, and you will need to pay attention to them periodically, because the intake rocker will be slightly cocked.

Yes they are #1076. I already have an sbc converted professional products super hurricane EFI manifold on my car right now. I will use that for this build.

I highly recommend you get the offset rockers for them. Unless you use some small diameter push rods the larger ones will hit the wall of the heads without offset rockers. The pushrod angle will be harsh on the lifter bores if you use standard rockers.

Joel, looks good man! I've had great results with AFR heads and am a big proponent of them :)

Are you planning to use them on your stock bottom end?

what kind of power did you make on that 383 with those 210s..?
I'm thinking about those or the 227s on my 355....

i'm about ready to throw in this 388 with afr 210s "race" cnc'd that were further hand ported. We'll see what the intake cc ends up being. I'm keeping the stock pcm and HR, the power will come from nitrous not redic RPMs.

Those 227s look awesome, nice price as well, but with them i would "need" to go SR, aftermarket pcm, jesel, etc and it would be just too much. Putting those on a 355 you'd really need to rev 7500+ to see fantastic numbers, my $.02

Joel, good to hear that you are going with a new shortblock. Are you going to run a solid roller?

Jason

Same here. I spoke with Tony Mamo at the PRI show extensively about what heads to go with and he recommended the 210's over the 227's because of my car being more of a street car than full blown race car. Plus I had AFR CNC race port the heads and had Indy Cylinder Head finish up the port work by hand so I wasn't really worried about the extra 17cc's.

Anything smaller than a 383 with the 227 heads are going to leave some power on the table in the midrange. They will work well at high RPM, but AFR was not sold that even in my application that a larger than 210 head would be any better. The lack of velocity on a small cubic inch engine with huge heads is not a good combo for keeping a reasonable amount of low and mid range torque. IMO.

I'm not sure yet. Anyone have one of those super-rare GM Raceshop LT blocks laying around that they don't want to use anymore?

Jeff400w

Did you see that GM Race Shop LT block that was on ebay a few weeks ago ended up going for over 3 grand? Too bad Dart or World wouldn't build a block like that. An LT 454 would make good use of those 227's.
