What bolt on mods can I do to get to 300rwhp. Without getting a cam. Im thinking like rockers pushrods lifters etc. What other bolt ons can I do. I have done now, msd coil wire and opti, lt4km, airfoil, longtubes, no cat or air, ory, magnaflow catback, trickflow elbow, slp intake, descreened maf, bbk underdrive pulley, electric water pump, tb bypass, 160 stat, and a pcmforless tuned for all those mods. What else is out there????

I dynoed 292 with just Long Tubes, ORY, CAI and an EWP... I dont know what else you should get..

You can get 300rwhp without opening a valve cover if you want with the right setup and a good tune. But with your current mods and 1.6 rockers you should be there.

I just noticed you have a auto (I assumed manual when you had 4.10s in your sig.)
With the auto you might not be able to get 300rwhp without pulling a valve cover, but you should still be pretty close (if not there) with 1.6rockers on your current setup.
What about a 52mm TB?

Dang Eric, you are on a roll today;)
this is easier with an M6 than a A4
blubird has a set up that is close
Lt's,true duals,Speed density,160*stat,custom chip,cai and he did 282 313
there are still a few things left:
EWP
better valve springs
1.6rr or 1.7s
synthetic fluids
make sure you have good injectors, fuel system is clean and properly functioning.
new spark plugs tr55,autolite 104s gapped at .035
new performance wires
definately a good opti:whistle:
custom tune by Ion Sultan(madtuner)
these will definately get you there!

Dang Eric, you are on a roll today;)Made the trip to a windows pc and was able to fix my posts.
BTW, a lot of the stuff you suggested he already has. (EWP, tune, etc.) And the rest of it (besides rockers really) is common sense, the car is going to perform better with a good tune up. However it might not be cost effective to do a complete tune up (~$700) for 5-7rwhp. I'd also assume he hasn't had the car a long time and that when he did the Headers he went with some new TR-55's and new plug wires. But then again, I'm the type that'd rather do one modification a year right than 3 modifications done cutting corners.

Have you dyno'd the car? You may be there already....

LT's, ORY, full MSD ignition (opti, plugs, wires, box) 52mm TB, CAI and a good tune.

I have a good opti and a pcmforless tune already. I bought the car with the longtubes, but i did the plugs when i first got it because i put 50 miles on it when i first got it and the opti shit out. I have an slp intake that I may have forgot to write in. And i just changed the filters on it. Im changing all the fluids out now, and would a 52mm tb help at all?

Oh and about the tune up, it has one already the fuel filter is brand new looking, the air filters are new, plugs and wires are new (msd wires), im gonna run some injector cleaner through it to clean everything out. I do have a dyno right here in my hometown so when the car is all done and the weather breaks, im going to take it there.

Sooo it's like a waiting game _______________________________then:D
you have everything done so i guess we will see what it does... with any luck you should be very close to the 300....i am a firm believer in bigger tb contrary to what has been said in the past by many
,i have always had great response from my cars with a larger tb weather it be a 52,54 or 58. NEVER had the need for a monoblde yet!
strap it on that dyno and bust 300 bro!

with an auto its going to be much harder. without 1.6 rrs i doubt you can get it.

You're def. close (280-290 range probably) I just don't see the point in going for a certain #. If you want rockers do it, it'll help you get a lot closer (if not surpass your goals). If you want to try for 300rwhp without opening the rockers, you'll need virtually every other bolt-on, and could possibly still fall short depending on how good of a runner your car is. I answered your PM too btw.

If you can tune in a 52mm TB i think it's worth it personally. Lets the engine breath better and with the LT's you'll see a increase in top end horsepower.

With 1.6's I was 299 / 330, switched to 1.7's and dyno'd 309 / 336. I think springs and rockers will be needed also.

Good luck keep us posted.

Ok guys, im going to get it dynoed with the mods I have now as soon as the weather allows. Ill see what it does and let everyone know how it went. Im still real close to buying the rockers springs and that bigger tb, maybe 52, what can the stock mani take 52 or 54? Im kinda interested in what it will do now though haha.

I always set goals for my cars. Im not really into drag racing, so to set a quarter time is pointless for me. I dont track it so a lap time is pointless to, but a hp number means something to me. Im not a guy that brags about it hanging out with buddies and stuff, its kinda like a personal goal for my car haha if that makes any sense.

Something else is make sure you have done all the free mods. Also, if you have a dremel you could port and polish your maf ends and you could clean up the tb a little.
What elbow do you have on your intake?

Read his sig, he has a 1LE elbow.
You can either run a ported stock throttle body (48mm) or 52mm aftermarket tb without any modification to the intake manifold. A 58mm TB would require some porting to the stock intake manifold.

I didn't notice that at first, Maybe a vortech elbow would be more beneficial and clean up the engine bay more.
I'll have to show you want I'm doing with my stock tb, should work pretty well over stock once I'm done.

You can actually smooth those elbows out quite a bit with a dremel too.

Yeah i know you can, but I really love the look of the cast elbow. I still bought in it black to give it a modified but not apparent appearence.

if you didn't have the 4.10 I think it would be gooad as is, but you will need to overcome the HP loss the gear will show
We have seen as much as 14 rwhp loss on the dyno from say going 3.42-4.10.
I seen you mentioned fluids will be changed soon and you could go synthetic for everything. There have been gains seen many times with good fluid swaps. We tested it once on an LT4 SS back to back ( just oil )and it was around 8HP if I recall correctly.
I would do the rocker and springs and don't worry about the lifters ( stock or fine ). This will obviously gain you HP and also prepare you for a cam swap later.
TB : I do agree if you are going to buy one and have the intake off for the cam go 58MM. The intake can them be cleaned up while off with no issues.
catback : I did not see what brand noted, so a cutout maybe an option for a few HP.
edit : reread and seen it's a Magnaflow and I have seen gains with a cutout on the F-body system.
good luck

with a good converter you should be there in no time

How would a converter add horsepower on a dyno?

No, but it would really bring your car to life on the track.

The converter really would wake the car up, but i'd be a little worried about launching it with the 4.10's might make traction very difficult lol.
A good set of valve springs alone will pick you up a few hp from the reduced valve float and with 1.6 or 1.7 rr i'd say you should be safely over the 300 rwhp barrier. You already have the LT4 KM so you won't have to buy it for the rocker swap and you can pick up 1.6 roller tips pretty cheap, its just the valve springs that will make it difficult to do with the heads on the car.

No one mentioned the LS1 lid swap. That might be good for a few HP
