"Woke up still not dead again today". (Willie Nelson) I'm still alive and kicking. We have a high rate of virus cases here so we are self-isolating.
Hope all is well with you and yours.

I was on a business trip when things got bad, drove home on the 18th, went to work on Monday the 22nd for 1.5 hours to do an expense report and set annual individual goals, and I've been off since. Won't be back at work until the 5th minimum. BUT......and this is double edged.........I'm using one day a week of vaca and getting paid as normal (I'm salary). My hourly coworkers are unfortunately on unemployment and I feel for them.
I've left the house about 3 times since getting home. Work and grocery store, Lowes and grocery store, Lowes. Yes, this is a great time for home projects. :D Other than that I'm staying in with the family though our neighborhood families got together, discussed, and we're letting our kids play outside with each other still.

Also working remotely, which I'm usually working out of 2-3 days a week anyway. I did finally get my car in the air last week. I guess my build thread deserves an update.
Stay safe!

Working remotely which I normally did anyways. Just today my company furloughed an unnamed quantity of our 2K employees and I had to take a 25% pay cut. Still a bit confused on how to feel about the whole situation.

I worked remote 4 days out of 5 last week. this week im in the office. i couldnt sit home anymore.
I work in the epicenter of the nj outbreak, bergen county. So far we have had 8 cases in different offices thru out our buildings, but 8 out of normally 2500 people on the property is pretty good.
Currently theres about 30 people total on site, mostly just to get their respective companies mail or packages, a random i.t. guy to make sure the server rooms are ok, etc.
Ive been keeping my guys busy for the past 2 weeks, but the powers that be sound like they may want to rotate them next week. Im trying to avoid that, as they will get pay cuts for days they are out (im essentially salary/work for a diff company so ill get my 40 no matter what).
Ill tell you this, it is WEIRD being up there right now. Retail center of nj, always traffic every day of week. Its more deserted than a blizzard or hurricane.
My biggest concern isnt myself, but its bringing it home and getting either my nana who lives with me sick, or my kids getting it from me and giving it to osie or his mom who lives with them.
My daughter is funny though. "dad why do we go to school for so long every day, i get all my work done in 2 hours at home". LOL

Sorry to hear that. I had to cancel my Mom & step dad's trip down to see me because of this crap and I haven't seen them in 4 years. I was worried about them getting stuck here. Our mayor put a stay at home order into effect this coming Friday. I've left my house once in the past two weeks, I'm going nuts.
I also always knew the general public was dumb as hell but this whole situation just proves it. Strange times.

We got a "Placed in shelter" order about 2 weeks ago, and they just extended it to the end of April. My work has trimmed down to a "skeleton"crew. I work 3 days, then off 6 days. BUT, I still get paid like a normal week, plus they're matching my time hour for hour that I do work and that extra will be Comp. time. (IL resident)

Lucky me is still hanging on.

Had my first CV19 related wellbeing check this past saturday. Family called to report that their 70 year old family member had not been heard from in 24 hours and that was unusual for her. She was allegedly confirmed to been diagnosed positive for the covid. Went to the house... found a package and mail from day prior still outside (mailman had not come yet yesterday). Looked in the windows... purse on floor, car keys on steps, plates and paperwork all over the place... Had fire bring me a ladder... tried accessing home from 2nd floor deck... locked but a look inside showed a tossed kitchen and tv room... Came down had fire break the window next to the door to unlock it... and she answered verbally. She has been sick for a week, the home was a mess because of how badly she felt. She didnt hear banging, yelling, doorbell , me on the deck, all the commotion that had the entire neighborhood outside, because she was sleeping that deep, and for over 15 hours. Initially tried to refuse ems... finally convinced her to go to the hospital with a promise I would secure the window and feed her cats... sigh. Went back in and fed cats from package that was at the door (thank God it was a Chewy package). Even with full gas mask and filter and full PPE suit still paranoid. Waiting for her test results is taking forever.
Update, recieved a call that her covid results are not in yet. But she is being treated for pneumonia. I was advised that had we not gotten her to the hospital when we did... the pneumonia was to the point she probably would not have made it through the night....
So a silver lining while I wait....39278

Stay safe out there! I work for a medical/safety device company. Our manufacturing plant ramped up production from pumping out 40-50 vents a week to 500-700. We are getting orders in the thousands from all over the world. Personally, I'm working with a few NYC hospitals and designing solutions for their new constructions right now. It is a crazy time we are living in. ....with lots of crazies!

So a little follow up from my previous post...
I've been fairly confident that I did everything to protect myself as I wait for the results from the woman we found. Even with that "confidence" the paranoia does not stop. I'm checking my temp several times a day (I'm on my scheduled days off) and noticing every little cough and ache.
Nothing official yet, other than a message at my extension from her boyfriend who said she is being given the CV19 meds, and being treated as if she was positive... prior to a positive finding due to the pneumonia. Also, she just had a stroke last night and is not doing well according to him. They flew her out this AM to a different facility.

Spoken to the womans sister and she tells me that not only did she get tested when she was taken to the first hospital... but they tested her again when they took her to the second hospital... neither result is available yet!
Anyways... her sister advised me that they do not think she is going to pull through... her stroke was alot worse than originally thought. The pneumonia has effected both of her lungs and she is in an induced coma at this time...
Sigh... tick, tock, tick, tock

My cousin passed this morning. doctors said the hardening in his lungs was getting worse last night and prepare for the worst. he flat lined and they revived him. this morning his wife and kids went to see him one last time, and he passed about 10am.
For anyone thinking this shit isnt real, its real. it doesnt care who you are, what gender, ethnicity, etc. either your immune system is strong enough to fight it, or your immune system loses against it.
stay safe everyone, happy easter
