A guy I race with is going to register his car in the LTX shootout. Theres a couple of classes that he is going to enter but one of them says stock or stock ported intake only. Is the edelbrock intake not gonna pass? It's not like it's a huge advantage over the stock one. Maybe 1 horse according to GMHTP. If its not going to pass we are going to take my ported intake and bolt it on his car.

From what I've read about them they are no better than stock.

Ive also heard theyre as good as stock. Hed probably run better with the ported intake if it is done right.
Stock as in LTx specific design, which the edelbrock is. He will be fine

Your money is better spent on porting the stock intake. The Edelbrock intake was dyno tested by GMHTP, and it actually lost 1 HP over stock on stock heads.

I think that rule was made to dis-allow converted single plane intakes. That Edelbrock intake will most likely be allowed.

See the shootout forum, the issue was discussed and confirmed that the Edelbrock intake is allowed.

Ok thanks guys. I ported out my stock intake and I don't want to bolt it onto his car. If he runs a better time than me I will never hear the end of it. The credit cards will start coming out again and I don't need that. lol
