Hey guys,
Under what circumstances would one need to get custom/measured pushrod lengths? I bought Comp Cam's hardened push rods and I've heard a few say "Did you measure the pushrod length?"  I just figured the regular height was fine.

If you have had the heads/block resurface... went with an aftermarket head casting, changed to a different kind of lifter.
Those are situations where you will need to check to make sure the valve geometry will be correct.
I have LS7 lifters and stock height worked for me (7.2)

Sorry to hi-jack, but if 1.6 RR NSA were installed with guideplates, would stock length push rods be fine?

Perfectly fine question to ask - that's exactly the same situation that I'm in. 1.6 RR NSA with guideplates and my heads were milled .01

With just 1.6 rockers, stock length is probably fine, but I would still measure them to be absolutely sure. If you plan on spending $80+ on hardened pushrods, might as well make sure they are the right length. The tool is only $20 from Comp.
And I would recommend Trickflow chromemoly PR's over Comp. They are exactly the same, except half the price.

I use the comp adjustable pushrod and color the top of the valve with a Sharpie then rotate the engine a bit and see if it wears in the center.
