Anybody else have a first gen camaro/firebird with an LTX?

That rusty master cylinder sticks out like a sore thumb!

I ended up not being able to use them though, those pics are a little old. Had trouble with the alternator clearance since they're not notched. I tried getting an LT1 alternator relocation bracket that put it down low on the drivers side, but then ran into clearance issues with that since the 67's front cross member on the frame sits different than a normal 3rd gen camaro. Not enough space between the block and the frame to fit the alternator. I ended up getting a pair of notched covers off of Ebay, but they don't have the flames on them. They still look pretty good though.

The wire looms still have the flame design on them though. I've done a couple other appearance things too, need to get new pics.

The previous owner did most of the work, but I'll tell you what I can.

It has vats tuned out (that parts pretty easy to do in the tune, basically just an on/off setting). There's an external fuel pump/filter, and it looks like the stock tank with a (badly done) connector drilled in for the return line. Looks like lots of some sort of putty or cold weld slapped around it. I'll probably be replacing the tank and doing a better job at some point. Right now if I fill it above about 3/4 it'll slowly leak gas from where the return line connects to the tank. Just a slow drip, but it makes the garage smell pretty bad.

I need to find a place that either has a modified first gen tank with a return line already built in, or maybe just a stock tank but with a dual sending unit.

aww that sucks about the fitting...why dont you drain the tank, drop it, fill it with water, flash it, then get it welded on? thats what i would do...i hate stinkin up the garage with gas lol..still a damn nice ride man

I originally had a LS1 and 6 speed that I was going to put in it, but the engine and the 6 speed both had to be rebuilt. I sold my 01 ws6 and took partial trade on a 97 camaro with a freshly built 4L60E and completely built and all forged LT1 in it. So I pulled those to put in my 67. I`ll dig up some pics and post them up. Maybe I`ll start a build thread on here. I`m almost done with the body work on the car, so things should start moving a little faster. However, I don`t know if my pocket can keep up with my eyes anymore.:)
