how would make motor a 390ci instead of 383 soi can get more power and would a 390 be able to be a daily driver

I don't see where you would benefit from an extra 7 inches.
The 383ci cars are very streetable.

hmm.... lol jk
no but really those extra few ci are not going to net you any more than 5hp/tq and it's just going to be more of a pain in the ass to get the combo of parts correct... a 383 will suffice and the streetability depends on the cam and the tuning

where did you come up with 390ci? Are you picking some random #? Pick your setup around the drivability, budget, and power requirements you have in mind.
I don't know why anyone would make a 390ci motor, but I can almost guarantee you can make similar power for less $$$ with a 383.

Ok thanks. And I just heard a guy with a lt1 camaro say that's the way he's going so that's why I asked. But ill go 383 a want around 450 rwhp and I big cam with 3200 stall, so that should be streetable correct?

Depends on your gears/tune/ and how big of a cam

That sounds like a good setup. A higher stall converter would wake the car up quite a bit, but the higher you go on the converter, the streetability will decline.

Yeah, 3200 is actually a pretty low stall on todays standards. A lot of guys are running tge ss3600 from Yank and love them, just get a name brand. (Vig, Yank, Edge, etc.)

You would benefit A LOT from a full dyno tune with a setup like that.

ya i just thought i would ask about a 390 since i seen someone saying that had one so i wasnt sure, how much better would a 396 be from a 383 anyways

Just FYI, 390ci is acheived very easily...as long as your block doesn't need to be over-bored.
4.0 bore and a 3.875 stroke makes 389.55 ci or rounded up 390 ci
A 3.875 cranks is pretty common stuff.

really it takes the same $ to make a stroker no matter the CI... and a stroker really doesnt cost much more that a 355 either if you have to replace the crank because your going forged or you bought a bare block, actually most companies cranks cost the same per app, but the clearancing for the extra stroke and bigger pan tht is needed is what costs more. but if you dont have the $ to do it right and go bigger then DONT! you HAVE to get a custom cam and bigger heads than stock to get the power that a larger CI motor is capable of. if your gonig cheap just save the $ and stay with a 350's range as it will better suit you and when you see your dyno numbers you wont think "its bigger why isnt it more powerful!" :) trust me a larger CI motor cheaped out on with the same parts (suck as stock unported heads) will restrict the ammount of air a larger CI motor needs to run vs a stock bored/honed over motors requirements (dont be mistaken, when selecting heads BIGGER is NOT! always better, in some cases it will MURDER your performance) , IMO i would go NO smaller than a 205cc intake runner on anything bigger than a 370ci the extra displacement requires more air, if its staved for air youll be starving for the power you thought you would make...
