So it's been a while but figured I would post up to see if folks had interest in racing at Atco this coming Monday, November 20th. I will be running my procharged bird like I do every year. I may bring the C7Z as well but we will see.
I've been organizing an annual Atco track rental for 7 years. Local NJ Fbody folks will be attending but this is open to all types of cars. The date is confirmed and deposit has been paid. We've had cars of all speeds attend 8 sec to 12's with most in the 9-11 sec range. Last year we had a McLaren 650s show up and this year, the owner will be running a new 720s. We normally get 20-30 cars every year with a great group of people.
If you are interested, please PM me and I will provide the PayPal addy for your deposit.
General Details: RENTAL WILL BE AT ATCO RACEWAY. THE DATE IS SET FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH.
Where:
Atco Dragway
1000 Jackson Road, Atco, NJ
Rental Guidelines:
- Rental starts at 9:30AM and ends at 4:30PM
- No street tires. You must be running a drag oriented tire (Drag radial, slick, etc)
- $20 non-refundable per person/car deposit required ($200 total deposit required to book the date)
- $180 balance due at the rental per person/car CASH
- 10 cars required
- No walk-on racers. If you did not pre-pay, no racing.
- Proper safety gear required
- If the weather is poor, the rental will be rescheduled.
- A complete list of rental guidelines courtesy of Atco can be found here: http://atcodragway.rocks/?page_id=163/
What to expect when you arrive:
- Plan to arrive early!
- Find me so you can provide the rental balance of $180 CASH (check in sheet will be signed by you and me)
- Once paid in full, you will receive a tech sheet. Complete the document and keep it with you/car.
- Atco tech will come around to collect the tech sheets from each car.

The track is not a stickler about the tires you bring. To try and keep the event a bit more towards the serious crowd, I ask folks be on a DR or better to maintain the track prep as street tires tends to chew it up when they spin. I normally get some relatively quick cars (8-9s) that need all the traction they can get. The only few exemptions I've made are when a car may be on a summer only performance tire and they won't spin. For example, a guy brought his McLaren 650s last year and didn't have DRs. However, apparently the McLarens launch control is very good and the car would not slip a wheel whatsoever. The cars can't even do a standing burnout and he needed to use tire warmers to make sure there was heat in the tire.
Bottom line, if you think you will be dead hooking on your current rubber, you're welcome to come.

Sorry you and Ponch weren't able to make it. We had a smaller group vs years past but enough for a rental. The cars and variety didn't disappoint. I was finally able to get a feel for what my car (Bird) wanted to get it to launch decently. I set a new best 60' (1.53), ET (10.2) and MPH (140) so no arguments here. My trans isn't feeling so hot after all the abuse but I'm hoping it's just the clutch that's unhappy. I think I am at the limit of my built T56 and may need to step it up to a Magnum. That is a few bucks so I'm going to bleed/replace the clutch fluid and see if it likes to go into all of its gears smoothly.
I didn't run the Vette as I wanted to focus on the Bird this time around. I am happy I did and plan to run the Z at a test and tune on Friday at Atco. I'm sure it will be crowded and prep won't be great but that's OK.
