I left mine open for a while... Then next time I removed the tank, I went ahead and removed everything associated with that line. There's a charcoal cansiter in the drivers side 1/4 panel behind the tire, and a few other lines and valves that can all come out. Just make sure you cap off any open lines that lead into the tank.

Man just got a suprise, I started this project after BS'ing forever and come to find out that the fuel lines up under the drivers seat doesn't have 3/8's inverted flare like i was told...it has 3/8 press fittings just like the fuel line up on the intake..grrr frustrating.

The 3/8" inverted flare is actually under the drivers side rear seat. It's where the fuel filter attaches to the hard line.
But that shouldnt matter... Aren't you installing a replacement in-tank pump?

Yes and I am getting rid of the hoses that run across the engine bay (lol they offend me) So I am putting a 3/8 flare where the metal tubing ends and the plastic tubing begins, the I can run my braided hoses from there.

If your uncomfortable with cutting and flaring your stock fuel line, there is a few companies that make adaptor fittings that take it from the gm snap fit to AN line.

Oh, ok. I was thinking you were trying to do something out back. Sounds like you have it figured out then. Just make sure you use a flaring tool with the correct angle, otherwise it will leak. Summit and the like carry the tools for cheap.

I'll have it done today 67, I'll take pictures for everybody and post it just in case people want to do this as well.

Lines are installed, FPS is installed and the new pump is installed now working on the Racetronix wiring and I'll be done.
I hope

"Sigh" Okay we got her running but a buddie of mine was closing some of the FPR when all of a sudden she just died out and no matter which way we turn the FPR valve I can no longer get any preassure and it wont start.:censored:

Is the pump running?
If it is, disconnect the feed from the rails and cycle the pump to see if your getting fuel flow.
Could even be the regulator, but only if you're getting fuel to the rails.

No PSI at all but the pump does work, I kept the shrader valve for just such a situation.

So you are getting fuel to the rails, just not under pressure?
If thats the case, I'd suspect the regulator, since its what is supposed to actually create pressure in the lines and rails. Maybe its stuck open and will not close off the flow path so that it can build pressure. Or even a torn diaphram not pushing the valve down.
Then again, it is possible that the pump crapped out and stops pushing fuel at the slightest hint of resistance from the regulator.
My moneys on the regulator though

Yep it's the FPR, the bearing in the middle of the diaphram was crimped down so it doesn't move at all. I ordered a new Aeromotive today from summit so we'll see.

Okay everything is in and the wife even let me have the Aeromotive of my choice  funny thing is that the car is running and I know the FPR needs adjusting but I am showing no PSI with it running. Gonna have to figure that one out.

Any updates? I'm going to be switching my fuel pump and getting rid of my evap and horrible looking fuel lines for some braided lines soon and am curious of how you did it. And if you have all of your problems figured out

Yeah, sorry man I have been so busy and about three weeks ago some little fucks broke into my house and cleaned me out for the most part.:censored: but any ways heres what you'll need to do.
1st off I left the intake fitting on my fuel rail alone and simply used a 3/8 to AN-6 quick fitting on that.
2nd. I removed the old FPR and fitting's from the return line, I took a AN-10 to AN-6 fitting and used a grinder to burr down the AN-10 side until it removed the threads, after that used the wire side to remove any paint from the fitting. Once completed I had the AN-10 side TIG welded into the fuel rail.
3rd. I used a Aeromotive A1000 to simply screw into the return line via AN-6 (Direct fit)
4th. I removed the fuel lines from the engine bay as well as that damn vacum line I hate so much. During this process I lifted the car and disconnected the lines where they connect under the drivers seat.
5th. Now here is the tricky part so PAY ATTENTION! As you look at the fuel lines one is a 3/8 line and one 5/16 line and of course the vacum line which I took off and threw away! The lines acually curve towards the driver side door. You must do an Inverted flare on these lines and convert to AN's ie 3/8's to AN-6 and 5/16 to AN-6 fittings. Now I used both AN-6 on both the intake and the return, but looking back I should have used a AN-4 for the return line.
6th. I ordered two 5ft AN-6 lines which I used, as it stands right now I have them running down the side of the engine bay and back to the fuel lines. After hooking up the fuel lines to the FPR and the intake line on the fuel rail I measured back to where I wanted them to go. I then cut the factory fuel lines and and installed the flares.
7th. After the fuel lines where done I the ended up cutting a hole above my fuel tank and replaced the fule pump and installed the Racetronix fuel harness kit. My recommendation: If you do not have this harness and you have replaced your pump get this harness it really makes a differance.
I then cut a piece of hard 1/25 inch plastic I got at lowes to make a pretty custom fit cover for my tank.
Once all this was completed I went to Oreilly's borrowed their Fuel pressure gauge, screwed it into the schrader valve and started adjusting from there.
I hope this helps and I WILL have pictures up soon..... as soon as I figure out how.

What was the reason for using an aftermarket FPR? I just heard that they were fine for most applications. And why not use the GM fuel line adapters for all of the connections?
My plan was to get a -6 and a -4 fuel line, 2 -6 GM fuel line adapters, 2 -4 GM fuel line adapters and running the lines by the brake booster and get rid of the EVAP junk and use the factory FPR for now. But would it work? I know that it would look about 10000000000X better, but if I have to cut and flare the fuel lines under the drivers seat it would be a big deal
Thanks for the help man, and good luck on the pics LOL
PS sorry about the break in. I had one of my wifes friends ex boyfriend come in to my house and woke me up at 7am wondering where his ex was. I usually keep a Springfield XD 40 next to my bed, but went shooting with a buddy a few days before that and left it in my truck, otherwise it wouldn't have taken him as long to leave my house. At least I kind of knew the guy, but its still shitty how stupid some people can be. I was really pissed and couldn't imagine if someone was stealing my stuff.
Sorry for the thread jack LOL

No problem on the T-Jack  as for the stock FPR if your running a stock pump thats fine but many (and I do mean many) people say if you upgrade your pump you should upgrade your FPR.
After doing over have the lines in braided fuel lines I may end up finnishing the rest of the car as well, I am packing close to 530 HP right now and if I do end up going with a twin turbo setup, I may ( or may not to the thread critics ) need it.

Thanks man I plan on getting a new pump and hotwire kit pretty soon so I guess I'll do a FPR soon after. But I really want to get the fuel lines fixed up
