My wife and I were about 80 miles north of where it stalled before it finally started heading south again. We had roughly 7-8 inches if rain in 2 1/2 days so not a whole lot. Plenty of wind, some branches were broken out of trees but that's about it for our place.

A guy I know is part owner of a house in Rockport and it was damaged. His brother and dad are the other owners, they bought it last year and didn't get insurance. They'll get it fixed though. He insisted they get insurance but the other two said no, it was built in 1971 and survived this long.

Houston is still getting hammered with rain while I went to work today and saw the sun again. Hoping our family along the coast is faring well.

I'm in central Virginia and they have already sent line crews from my area and the way they are talking I'm close to next in line. Fingers crossed I don't go before the shootout

We made it out o.k, a couple streets of my neighborhood flooded closer to Fry Rd, I did not luckily. The water never got to our portion of the street. It sucked to have to leave your home with what ever you can carry. The neighborhood I am in has 3 sections, the sections east of me, one directly across Fry from us, the other across Fry and south of Westheimer, flooded pretty badly. It's weird because when I was looking for houses those two sections were my first and second choices. Weird how that works out.

I'm in Beaumont, we had no problems till the city water pumps failed. I went online and found the elevation of my house is 33 feet above sea level. Now I know how high the storm surge has to be, but I've been either dodgin' or ridin' out hurricanes for 50+ years.
