View Full Version : Thoughts on a slightly crazy idea

ok, so I sold my formula a couple years ago. the new owner barely drove it, and wants to unload it. I loved that car. it had full suspension, set up for rr/autox. but it had an autotragic and hotcam bolt on motor. I now have a 6spd heads/cam camaro that I have started doing things to, has lowering springs/shocks/rod end rear suspension.

crazy idea: heads cam t56 swap formula, swap hotcammed auto motor/trans computer etc back into camaro. sell camaro as a running driving car. be happy cruising t56 h/c formy again.

what could I feasibly ask for the camaro as a running driving hotcam full bolt on auto car? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170624/caab360befb6aa71ce8898a012315c8f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170624/81481849add9fdafcd6c0b0b2c21d11b.jpg

I would do it if I had the room.

Think I would sell the Camaro as is (Start at 5K as stated above), buy the Formula back and look for a T-56 Swap. I just seen a 6spd Camaro with a blown engine on Craigslist for $1500. Sell your auto setup and part the donor car out. Deals are out there. May take time to find them but they are out there. FYI, both cars look great!

My bad, forgot what you all had done to the engine. I can understand where you are coming from. Definitely worth more than 5k. Tough decision and a lot of work if you decide to swap. If it were me I would keep the Camaro and work on building the suspension. Then again, nothing wrong with owning two cars. LOL!

It's not that much work to us. it's a weekend for me and Ltconvert to do. I swapped my entire 94 camaro drivetrain into the formula in a weekend, including the single rear brake line, etc. then made the camaro a roller

it would be like doing it all over again. I always have liked the formula body lines better. I should've never sold it :(

Well, it's obvious your love is for the Formula. Think you have your answer. [emoji41]

only headache is the financial one. basically have to find a loan to do it and use the complete running camaro as collateral. when it sells loan is settled.
