I just bought a laptop off ebay with windows Vista business as the software on it.
I have been trying to get Scan9495 and EEhack to function correctly.
I started with Scan9495 and it worked perfectly for about 2 days, then it would close immediately after opening and give Error message APPCRASH.
So I downloaded EEhack, worked PERFECT for 2 days get up this morning to log on the way to work and...... APPCRASH ....everytime....
I have tried uninstalling both applications and reinstalling with NO luck.
Both apps are running in windows XP compatibility mode.
And both apps seem to be some kinda EXE file
If ANYONE can help AT ALL I would greatly appreciate it!
Attached is the error message conents, it shows pretty much the same thing for both apps.

My honest recommendation would be to reformat and install Windows 7 at the very least, just to get rid of Vista.

You'll have to look around to find a Win7 image that you can create an installation disk from (odds are if Vista was installed on the laptop then the BIOS isn't new enough to be able to do a USB installation). There are.......ways.......around paying for Windows 7. Read |look for| between |toolkitZ| the lines.

It's not the laptops fault... It's Vista that sucks balls..... I had a computer shop for years and I have 7 discs with unlimited installs from my shop. I could hook ya up. Or if you're not to far away come out for a day and we can set it all up to work right.

Your right and actually this laptop seems to be one of the best ones I've had.
I don't mind paying for a disk or barrow ing one if you can send it out this week maybe?

I'm running Windows 10 there's no issues yet. You can still buy Windows 7 from Newegg.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=Windows+7&N=-1&isNodeId=1
My laptop came with Vista but I put win 8 pro then windows keeped bugging me to install 10 so I caved.

using a (free) 64 bit vista laptop here, no issues with eehack whatsoever.
I had an old IBM thinkpad with xp pro that would boot from usb, just had to tell the bios to do it.
same with this Vista machine
my $.02, start by reading up about winmm.dll errors...
I get quite a few free computers with easily fixed minor problems from a friend whose mentality is to run out and buy a new one rather than figure out what's wrong (he also wipes his ass with $100s). Last time I paid for a machine was 2008....
