Noob here! I took my car to the track for the first time this weekend and I am rather disappointed with it. I got me a lightly modded '95 Z28 A4 convertible. Below was my very first run of the night and was never able to make a faster run afterward. I kept getting consistent 14.5-14.6 all night.
Mods:
3795 race weight
LT's, ORY, stock cat-back
CAI
Stock rear, but with 3.42's
Nitto Neo Gen 19"
No tune
60' - 2.202
330 - 6.140
1/8 - 9.386
MPH - 76.44
1000 - 12.147
ET - 14.470
MPH - 97.41
Is this normal for a lightly modded LT1 vert or do I got myself a factory turd?

Sound about right for a stock Vert...3800# is heavy. Your HP from your weight and trap is right around 270 which is right in the ball park for a light bolt on lt1.

Elevation could also be a factor in the slower times. Trap speed is a tad low for having exhaust done to it.

looks like track elevation is 1145' (assuming Wild Horse Pass)
I can approximate the DA given the time of the run if you like.

Nice, Arizona. I live in the west valley. Yeah, 3700 DA is TERRIBLE air to be honest. Plus 91 degrees outside. Definitely not ideal for racing at all. Your car is running decent if it ran that time in those conditions.
How is that track? Is it busy? I want to go there later in the year when temps cool off and the air gets better.

Thank you all for the responses. My best run was made around 8:30pm at Wild Horse Pass. It was not packed at all. I got in nine runs total with letting the car sit for like an hour. The last Friday night drags event happened this weekend and the next one is in December. I heard that it gets pretty packed then.

Would it help my times if I switched to 17's?

Depends on the weight but the short sidewall will kill traction, you will never get a good 60ft with 19s

I ran stock sized coppers last year an ended up in the 13's and less then 2.0 on the 60. And I'm mildly modded stock. With 3 23s
It's not how fast you mow. It's how you mow fast.

Could be elevation and weather like everyone is saying. I used to own a 94 z28 a4 with just intake and I ran it at the track in Mississippi and could get better than a 14.7. But I knew my car was faster because my buddies 04 Mach 1 couldn't get out of the 14s and it usually runs 13.1s

And it was hot and humid so everyone was running slow
