Hey guys, im looking into putting a 100 shot (nitrous outlet plate system) into my 97 trans am and was wondering about the tuning aspect of the deal.

is it needed? do i need 2 different tunes?

car is mint and barley broken in has 74,000 KM on it so 46,000 miles.
its a full bolt-on car with a mild cam. (bought the car this way)

so please any info is good info.

I'd say at a minimum you need a fuel pressure safety switch, window switch, and some sort of ignition box to retard timing. Some will say you will be fine on the stock tune and no retard. I am not one of them.

Oh yeah, get a wideband and monitor your A/F. Nitrous leaves little room for error.

I agree with BLOWN, a window switch and fuel pressure safety switch is a must.

With it being a full bolt on car with a cam I'd highly suggest a tune anyways though PCMFORLESS ect and make sure to mention that your spraying 100 shot.

These motors usually take 100 shot no problem even without tuning or ignition mods but it's always a plus and with n20 you want to be safe even if it cost you a little extra.

Since you bought the car like that, you probably don't know how aggressive the timing was set after the cam. I would talk to someone who can tune the car or buy an ignition box like the mallory 685 with a window switch and pull timing while spraying.

an easy way to cheat if you are worried about timing is to go up a size or 2 on the fuel jet. i always do anyway till i get a look at the plugs just to be safe.
