It's that time of the year again! Frigid cold weather this week makes one even more anxious for Spring! So why not give yourself something to look forward to and check out our new Michigan FBody Meet & Greet website! http://www.mifbody.com/MeetGreet/
For 2017, our show will be supporting the FPIES Foundation as our charity of choice. What is FPIES, you ask? FPIES is Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome which essentially means your digestive system has an allergic reaction when ingesting certain proteins. These proteins are found in the majority of food, though, so a child with FPIES is very limited with what he or she can eat.
In the tail end of 2015, we moved into New Haven and met a lot of great new neighbors. One couple, though, has a child named Eliott who suffers from FPIES. As if it wasn't enough that he's allergic to most foods, he also has Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which gives him a similar reaction to the rest of the food which should have been safe! Elliot literally can only "eat" ice chips and breastmilk. Everything else causes a severe reaction.
If you're in the mood for a good cry, check out the following article and embedded video WDIV Detroit had on Elliot and the struggles him and his parents are going through.

For 2017, we'll be supporting the FPIES Foundation which is in desperate need for research funding. With everyone's help, we can help raise awareness and much needed funding to help come up with a cure to FPIES!
Started in 2005, the Spring Meet & Greet has become not only a tradition for members of the MiFbody.com website, but a tradition for members of the entire Michigan Camaro and Firebird enthusiast community. The show is meant to be a laid back, casual show to promote face-to-face interaction with Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts. Many of us know eachother through the various large forums but we do not get a chance to meet in person and check out each other's cars. The Meet & Greet was created to help create new friendships and new bonds.
In 2009, the informal BBQ was amped up into a full fledged car show. We switched locations from being held at local Metro Parks to our new home: Bakers of Milford. Known for their free weekly Sunday cruise-ins, Bakers of Milford was the perfect fit for our show. A great restaurant, clean restrooms, outdoor grill, and an open parking lot: all the makings for a perfect car show!
Since 2013, the Michigan FBody Meet & Greet has raised thousands of dollars for charities! Each year we select a worthy charity to focus our efforts on. We collect charity donations through judging class entries, donations, and raffles! We ask for a minimum $10 donation for anyone who wishes to have their vehicle judged. Donations can be made at the event. We plan to have multiple ways to donate towards the show’s charity while at our event, so bring your wallets and let’s support a great charity!

General Plans for the Meet & Greet:
The Meet & Greet, as a tradition, is a casual meet up to hang out and have fun! The event's host website (MiFbody.com) is still growing at an exponential rate, and there's still a lot of names that we know from the community but we don't have a face to place with the name. The Meet & Greet was first held shortly after the site was created to be able to put faces to the user names on the site. The whole point is to meet new people, hang out, show off our own cars and check out each other's cars! Over the years, we've grown to include the entire FBody community not only in Michigan but in neighboring states and Canada! Our goal is not directly meant to promote our website - but more to promote the FBody community as a whole and encourage the community to establish friendships with people in the area with the same passion for the cars we own! The Meet & Greet is MiFbody.com's way to try and give back to the community by having a yearly show to look forward to.
