My drivers side motor is out, passenger side is going soon so I was thinking of switching to manual windows if there available to save weight.

How much weight savings will I gain from switching?

Thanks.

I have heard that strangely enough the electric windows are actually lighter then manual on these cars.

Yes. Electric doors are lighter than manual doors. STS95T/A on CZ28.com weighed them in his shop. It was like 2 pounds difference.

with only a 2 pound difference i would think about it personally if my motors we already out like you, how many times have you had to replace them? mine don't seal for shit and are slower than hell so i will have to change mine this winter and i'd be interested in what it takes to go crank windows...

Ive also been thinking about switching to manual becasue they are so effin slow and on their way out.. Soo what do you need to make the switch? I hope not the whole door?

Nope not the whole door. Just the manual track, handle, and a few other things. Call Robbie (817) 437-1691. He has plenty of manual doors and I'm sure he can tell you what you need. He might even sell all the parts out of them.

IMO, it would be easier to buy the 2 doors and just have them painted. Theres alot of parts to change and they are a bitch to get to. You will also need the door panels off the manual doors and the door lock plate that doesnt have the power window buttons.
