work on aluminum heads as well?

Yes, no machine work needed and still work with the stock retainers and stock locks but i would remove the stock seals and stock spring locators and then use a set of .060" flat shims under the springs and new seals.

The stock locator has a small area sticking up that fits pretty snug on the stock spring and the ID of these Howards springs are a lil smaller and the spring will not fit completely flat so removing the locatora nd using a flat spring shim will make it all work fine.

I can throw in the sealsa nd shims to amke it work if someone is wanting to use them on alu heads.
