I'm running a 4.10 in my car. It was definitely an improvement and it still gets 25mpg on the highway!

Go with whatever you need based on your tire and trap speeds for the track or preferences.
A lot of M6 guys usually got to 4.10's

I hope you're a track guy because a 4.30 will run out mighty quick... you better have some damn good tires to make that hook up too...
4.10s for the track guy
3.73s for the street minded guy... I say this because people often run their cars out much higher on the street

so basically the 4.30 will be stupid to have for cruisin around the highways,,,i want a gear mainly to play around with on the street and that quick acceleration factor,,,stock tire size 275/40/17 on the stock ss wheels,,,and how much would my speedo be off with either gear

It will be off a good bit with any gear, but in your car you can have it electronically reprogrammed correctly
For me (I have different ratios in my 93 transmission) I wont go higher than a 342s with my turbo build... If I were staying N/A I would stick the 373s in that I have. My gears are a bit shorter than 94+ gears though... 4.10s would probably still be good but it would be too much for me

I hated 4.10's, felt like I was always shifting. I went back to 3.42's, then finally settled on 3.73's when I put the 12 bolt in.
Just my opinion.

4.30s are going to be retarded for the street... highway mileage is going to suffer and city mileage is definitely going to take a hit

So yeah his highway mileage will be worse and his city will go down some but I doubt it will be noticeable (~.5-1MPG)

I just feel like it's going to be too much on the street.. he's going to be shifting every other second in the city, and on the highway if he has any kind of open exhaust it's going to be a nasty drone because of the higher rpms it will be at.
Not to mention (I know around here when we go out and setup races we run to ~140mph) he is going to lose a good amount of topend and if he doesn't have the skills to shift quick enough he will end up being slower due to having to shift so quickly, so often

well i usually only drive the car on the weekends,,,it doesnt have open exhaust,,factory slp muffler but it has a o/r ypipe, i mostly go to car shows and cruise-ins,,,so the gear is mostly for me to play around with when i leave the shows,,to show off a little lol,,i know ill have to get my speedo redone,,,how much will it be off and which way show too fast or too slow?

I believe it will show too fast, and its going to be off a good bit as you are stepping up almost a full ratio... idk the exact numbers though... i'd imagine 15mph or so

In all honesty, you'll probably not even use 1st gear. It won't hook on the street (you won't get it to the floor before it redlines). And if you're looking to light them up, it'll redline too quickly... you'll probably end up launching in 2nd just so you can get some wheel speed out of it. It'll be effortless to churn the tires in a burnout... but to light 'em up you'll prob need to be in a higher gear than 1st.
I guess it'll sound cool slamming through 5 gears within sound range.
As for normal driving and shifting every other second... you'll probably just be skipping a lot of gears. With the 4.10s in my brothers pickup normal driving was 2nd, 4th, 5th.

If you have the factory 26' tire you should look into some 4.10's or 4.11's depending on if you have a 10 bolt or an aftermarket rear end.
If you step up to a 28' tires deff go with a 4.56.
There's also a 3.90 out there if you wanna look into that,a lot of GTO/Vette guy's go with that. They also have a bit different gear in there tranny.

I have 3.73's in my car now, and I love them. Now I drive my car mainly on the street and go to the track when I can, but my goal for the car is to be fun on the street and not cost an arm and a leg in gas, so the 3.73's are perfect for me, and if you still have the stock 10 bolt I would reccomend looking into getting a girdle cover for it if you don't have one, I got mine from summit for ~$150.

1st will last till 38, but you're absolutely right it will be virtually useless. I'd stay away man. I wouldn't go any bigger than 4.10s unless it were strictly chosen for track use
