clutch death!

My last track run i made 3 passes the first(13.35@105.20) i bogged very bad and i thought the clutch was going south during that pass so i let her cool off then made 2 more passes which were a bit slower but she still was feeling good i did notice i made one pass 13.53@105last pass was 13.57@101 i think this should have been a sign:confused: well tonight on my way home i am driving normal go to shift into 3rd gear then all of a sudden i hear a big bang now i am thinkin holy shit i have no available cash to put a new motor in here:face_shocked::shiner: now i am coasting for a ways go to push the clutch in to restart and the flippin clutch pedal feels like the brake pedal so now i am figuring the T/O bearing is broken(car is still rolling at this time)so i put the car in 5th gear and did not feel like it was engaged.
The car is now in a parking lot,the clutch pedal is now feeling normal so i pushed it in to start her up motor is sounding all good but ZERO CLUTCH feel so now with my foot off the pedal i was able to shift into all 6 gears and reverse without the clutch......:claps: i done pretty good this time:rolleyes: at this time i am thinkin the T/O bearing is definately destroyed,the clutch disk has wipped off all the friction material and or the disk has broken the center seperating the outer portion from the center(input shaft) no loud noises just slight rattling.....definately not mad i got 3 years from this clutch countless passes and street driving.....i will pull the tranny this weekend and take pics of the carnage:secret:

lol when my first clutch went.. I couldn't go anymore than 1/4 throttle or the car would just free rev

Ok friends i have finally gotten motivated to have something done to my car the tranny was removed at my friends tranny shop. just as i suspected it was baaad,flywheel is scarred/grooved PP ,disc and t/o bearing are DESTROYED! i will be headed to the shop in the morning with camera in hand i am still curious since they said,"we have never seen a clutch this bad!":D sorry for the delay but i have had alot going on that was waayy more important than fixing my car

Did not get to the Flywheel in time it was resurfaced suprised the groove came out! thank goodness it did not come apart like Taners did last year i am only 600hp less though:laugh:

in all his years of service he has yet to see a clutch done like this on a bolt on car! damn Lt1s :D he is out of town racing his GN :metal:

Well she seems to be running nicely went with a few friends on a small cruz tops off and all played on the freeway quite a bit brought her up to 155 @5700 in 5th :metal: definately did not have enough room to grab 6th gear besides that is very fast :shame: hopefully this clutch will allow me to get a 12 sec. slip:secret:

lol, idid that to three of my clutches before i finally shelled out the 1200 bucks for my centerforce!!! and yes they were that much back when i bought it:cry: but 6 months later they went down to half that. what clutch did you put in?

Its just an OE replacment the last one went 3 years so i just put another one in for now. next one will most likely be a street twin.
