I was doing some research and looking race fuels and wondered if anyone has ran in a LT track car?

I believe the noice brothers ran methanol in their 68 camaro. But I haven't seen them on in a long time

Yea I ran mechanical injected alcohol, nitrous, and race gas. Sometimes even a little bit of nitromethane in the alcohol.

Alcohol runs around 6.5:1 ratio so you'll about double your fuel usage.

Thank you for the info noice. Did you see a great improvement in power out put?

Nothing major, it is more consistent for bracket racing. Less of a change with weather.

Thanks again noice. I'm looking into running in the street outlaws in CO and wounded if that would give an edge over c16.

No not really. Unless you are running a turbo/blower combo and really need the cooling/detonation resistance of mechanically injected alcohol.

noice thank you for your knowledge. I would like to run a twin turbo set up.

Well for pure drag race only, methanol + turbo is awesome. Don't even really need an intercooler with it. Street driving will suck as you will have pretty poor mileage.

noice Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Can I switch between alcohol and race gas when I run it on the street rarely?

If you are running efi it is possible, mechanical injection or carb is going to be much harder. The guys that do it have twin fuel systems. One belt driven (methanol) and electric, gas. Separate injectors and lines as well.

Look up Larry Larsons S10 if you want to see what it takes.

I ran methanol or should I said tried it . I had two programs one for methanol and 1 for reg race fuel. Utilizing Weldon 2000 hp (1000 meth) pump and 83# injectors. Only had a 3 gal. Fuel cell so I could pump it dry refuel and load program. Trust me Stick with race fuel. Tuned correctly it's faster when the weather is cool. And it's not hard on all your fuel line hoses and engine parts. Methanol advantage is on hot days. That's all I really seen !
