Car storage

So I leave in July for Basic training. What are some things I should keep in mind for storing my car safely while I'm gone. So far it's going to be parked in my driveway with a car cover, tires slightly deflated, and driven a few times by my dad. CCTV coverage and all that so I know it will be safe in that way. Anything else?

I wouldn't do the cover if it's being stored outside. Sunshade in the windshield would be good enough. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've stored a car outside with a cover, wind has blown the cover off, and because I had the cover tie done up, the paint got all scratched up.

Why deflate the tires some? Leave those be.

I ran a cover on my old c4. I think as long as its a fitted, quality cover there should not be any issues. Mine was such a perfect fit, with even the mirrors in the right spots that id didnt move at all. It was an 8 layer out door, with the softest linner on it.

I use a Craft Cover and I'd recommend one, but use a quality cover. The one I use on my foxbody is custom fitted, outdoors, bla, bla, bla, $400, but I like it a lot and it's a happy medium. They can get very costly.
Put fuel stabilizer in the tank too and don't keep a lot of fuel in it.
If your dad drivers it at leat once every month I think that would be good to get the old gas out and rotate the tires.
Why did you deflate the tires?

I would cover it, and do some sort of pest repellent like moth balls under the car, other than that just letting it run once a month let it come up to temp charge the battery ect. It will be fine.

Skip the fuel stabil its a waste of money.
