I know I have not posted on here much lately but I've been dealing with life and also been in the process of buying a house, were sposed to close on the house on the 24th, Well today I went into work and received my lay off paper, so now I'm like wth do I do now bc no one is really hiring right now bc of the oil field is not doing good, I'm not even trying to get another oil field job just trying to get something to pay the bills

I hate to hear that man...
I hear it all the time that friends and friends of friends are losing their job. My co-worker's fiance just lost his job last week and he worked for Shell. They are/were planning a wedding and all that good stuff. Imagine how it is here in Houston Texas. This is a gas, oil, and plant area. I know the economy is doing good here, but I don't know how. Maybe this city has gotten more diverse with different types of businesses here.

Regardless, good luck in your search for a new job. I hope you bounce back fast.

OPEC is getting what it wants by flooding the market. They're putting our domestic oil industry out of business, ruining peoples lives in the process, only to line their own pockets. I'm sorry you had to be part of the downfall of this man.

That was my/ out worst fear when buying a house, we figured if we could both work crap jobs could we still afford it.
At least you didn't close yet.
Your not alone, its happening everywhere in the nation more and more.

That sux man, I'm sorry to hear.

The company I work for were drilling up to 10 horizontal oil wells a year til the bottom fell out of a barrel of oil. Now work is scarce here in KY. I know how you feel. Unemployment just wont cut it. I hope you find something that will help you survive these hard times....

Thanks everyone for the words, I've been hard at it these last two days putting in applications , even if I have to work a few crap jobs I'll do it so I can get the bills paid, there's a few places that seem like pretty solid leads

Well good news guys, after two full days of putting in applications I got a job and today was my first day, I now work for (OZ safe rooms) it's a Monday -Friday job and pretty easyish work, loved today we will see how Monday goes lol

I work off shore, it's been a long slow bleed for us since 2014. 2015 especially has been an absolute night mare. Constant rounds of lay offs, etc. I am glad you found some thing else.
