So, let me first throw in this disclaimer saying that I love my car to death.
Now - I HATTEE this fking interior! There must be something done. I can't stand charcoal black, I can't stand crappy leather, I can't stand useless backseats and most of all I cannot stand unnecessary weight!!!
So I come to you, my LTx bretheren and ask for inspiration. Please post up pics of your interior modifications, ideas etc. I've got a few of my own but I wanna see what other people have done too.
I am not looking to do a full strip, I want to keep carpeting/sound, just fyi.
Thank you for helping fuel my creative inspiration!

You gotta get a little more specific than that. If you're looking for general ideas, just search the first few pages of this forums - you'll find tons.

get some quality racing seats. Cover your dash in vinyl. That shit looks pretty nice, but it's complicated and I'll never do it or pay someone to do it, because of how much it'll be.

Best thing you can do is a triple guage pod, rear seat delete, and nice racing seats. I tried wrapping my doorpanels I failed miserably

So far on my interior I've done...
- 93-96 to 97+ Full Dash Swap
-- Rattle canned semi-gloss black but with no clear coat. It's noticeably darker, but it's not tacky shiny that it's obvious that it was rattle canned, it just looks like a darker stock dash.
- 2002 Trans Am Door Panels
-- Reupholstered with red vinyl and rattle canned semi-gloss black to match dash
- Custom 7" Touchscreen Computer where the radio and HVAC go
-- 7" touchscreen, motherboard, harddrive, and GPS mounted behind the radio bezel
- HVAC relocated to the glovebox
- 97+ center console (first interior mod I ever did)
- !rear seats
- LeatherSeats.com seat covers
- Leather automatic shift boot from some vendor on CamaroZ28.com - can't think of the name of the company...
- PartsForYourCar.com Automatic to Manual Shift Knob Conversion
- StockInteriors.com aftermarket carpet, dark red in color

Haha I knew that was going to be someone's reply. I'll have to hunt down all the "in-progress" project pics I have - surprisingly enough I didn't realize until recently that I don't have any "Finished" interior pics with all of my mods as a whole.

Automatic to Manual Shift Knob Conversion
Disregard the interior dash in the background... but this is what it originally looked like with the *stock* automatic stick height. The conversion is an adapter that goes over the automatic shift stick and then your manual knob locks onto it. You push down on the whole knob to move the shifter into different gears.

After a LOT of grinding the shift stick down and getting a smaller shift knob...

Care to start a thread about the indash computer? I was contemplating the same thing, though not touch screen. I have a spare laptop with a bad screen, and I have a HUGE area in my dash with nothing there (removing A/C and moving radio). It would be nice to always have Datamaster a click away :D

Lou's Short Stick on factory Hurst shifter w/ Hurst classic shift knob
White faced gauges with Trans Am bezel
Cobra radar detector (just use it on long distance trips)
It also has a 30th SS Dash emblem now rather than the stock SS Dash Emblem b/c it's white which goes with the shifter and gauges.

How much did you guys spend on the dash swap & materials? Do you have a list of all the material needed.
Thanks

I did the same thing, and bolted a cheap fobus holster to the inside of the door, so when I flip the passenger side one up.... there is my GLOCK!

Are you going from 93-96 to 97+ dash? If so, you'll need basically the entire dash from a 1997-2002, the HVAC pieces (again 97-02), a 1997-specific gauge cluster [98+ gauge clusters are driven by the OBD2 serial data wire I guess], and the 97-02 air ducts. That's it in a nutshell - if you can find someone that's gutting a car, you'd basically want their entire dash, sell the gauge cluster if it's a 98-02, and then buy a 97 gauge cluster on ebay from LKQ or such.

I was talking with Mark (1msfyter) a while back before he was in the hospital. He had ordered matching carpet for me and was supposed to make me a set. Not sure he is doing it anymore, but I have his number. Might have to drop him a line again.

I'd prefer not to give out his number without consent, but I believe he has logged in the CamaroZ28.com within the last two weeks or so.

I'll throw a few of mine up;
Dual pillar gauge pod (The lights are for my meth injection, green lights up with the meth is flowing, red when the meth tank is nearing empty)
Custom painted silver dash overlay (it was billet originally)
Aftermarket silver pedals
Red "Camaro" insert for the steering wheel
Silver painted door inserts near the door handle (not really a good pic to see them though).
Custom "Z28" floor mats
HUD, (again not really seen from pic)
http://i49.tinypic.com/f3gyrn.jpg
Biggest difference was the custom shift knob
Also I have a digital Zeitronix display for Lambda, boost, wideband O2, and EGT.

I got the HUD years ago from LPE (but its a Delphi model that you can find online, as in, you don't have to go to LPE to get one). Fastbird did most of the electrical work once we opened up the dash. I thought it was a PITA, however Fastbird didn't think it was too bad (keep in mind I hate wrenching on cars, and he loves it).
Thanks for the compliments. I never wanted to go crazy with it, I just like keeping it subtle yet sharp. I only modded it enough to where it stuck out and looked like a cockpit.

I'm going from a 95 dash to 97-02, so far I have a 97 gauge cluster. A buddy of mine is parting a camaro and I want to make sure I get all the correct wiring and connectors needed from the donor car. The dash has already been pulled by him, and he left the wiring. If I take a pic of the wiring would you be able to tell me what to pull

BTW, speaking of interior mods, how do you like the aftermarket steering wheel you have in your car? Honestly, I usually don't like aftermarket steering wheels, but yours looks great inside your Formula.
