So I currently have an LT4 with the Hotcam installed. Reason I was running the Hotcam was to pass emissions. I no longer have this problem as the vehicle the motor is going into does not need to pass an Emission test. I am looking to change the cam to a larger one. Motor is 30 over with forged flat tops. Running 30# bosch 3 injectors. Also have a 3000 stall in the car. I am looking at either the cc467 or the cc468. Any input from you guys on which cam you would run? Car is a weekend cruiser. Valve springs are good to .625 lift so that will not be a concern.

Call Lloyd Eliot, have him spec you a custom grind. the difference in cost is so small it's not worth it to run an off the shelf cam these days.

OP

agree with above post. Contact Lloyd for a custom grind.

If you just want a off the shelf, of the two XFI cams you noted I would get the 467. Understand the XFI cams have aggressive lobes so you need, and will need to change sooner than some cams, VERY good valve springs. I got 20k mi on a set of Comp 918's before one broke with my XFI, fortunately no engine damage

I have a XFI cam in my 383 and use the Lunati spring kit I got from Lloyd. Summit or Jegs also carry the Lunati spring kit 73925K5

I think with a shelf grind you could be leaving power on the table. In order to maximize your setup, go with a custom grind. Lloyd is the man for the job. He's always been super helpful in random emails from me over the years.

Well is looks like to consensus is to go with a Lloyd for a custom grind camshaft. I just got an email back from the tuner and he said to also get a custom grind. LOL So I guess my next step will be to contact Lloyd.
