Hey guys an gals! A while back I posted a thread titled "MY NEW TOY". I bought a 1980 Chevy LUV for $300. It ran decent but needs work. Anyway, I recently started getting fuel in my oil and I finnaly decided to remove a valve that I thought may have been the cause. The fuel return line runs into this valve as well as a line to the crankcase. Faulty valve, not uncommon. After inspecting the cap and rotor I saw the cap was so fouled up with soot it looks as if this truck never had a tune up......ever! Look at these plugs....

My cell cam doesn't show the amount of soot on these plugs! Crappy pics!! I'm surprised this truck can even start and run with the amount of soot on these plugs!! Little wonder why I'm getting fuel in the oil huh? Going to do a full tune up and see what happens. Just wanted to give everyone and undate!!

I changed the plugs in my Jeep last summer at 132k. There were no electrodes left haha. Stockers I bet.
Wish i had some pics of the plugs ive taken out older cars over the years. Its shocking alot people just put gas in there cars or trucks and go.Best friends dad is a GM engineer.Had a Buick GN. He never changed his oil just added oil as it needed it.Come to find out thats how he did all his cars. The GN had 2 motors before it seen 70000 miles. And really feel for the fool that bought that one off the used lot :face_shocked:
After about 15k on the same oil, its pretty much water anyway. Might as well fill it up with some H20 :)
