Ok... quick question.

Does anyone know if this makes sense.

Before dropping my TA off for the cosmetics, we installed the new sun visors on the new headliner.

Since the new backing board is ABS plastic, we just used a power driver to run the screws in. After that the car was dropped off at the customizing shop.

Anyways... now that I have it back... the interior lights do not work. Also if i turn the dimmer to ON for the int lights the radio power goes off. I also noticed that the radio when powered up, will still not actually turn on. Finally... the door pin works just like the dimmer switch. When the door is open, the head unit loses power.

My thought is we clipped a wire installing the headliner and it is grounding out causing that circuit to work the way it is.

2 questions.

Does that make sense?

Does anyone know which side the ceiling light wiring goes up... drivers side or passenger side?

I figure if the wire was not cut off, I should be able to back out the screws and everything will go back to normal, but with as difficult as the abs is to screw through, hoping someone can tell me which side to reduce work...

Usually something weird like that i would first be checking ground. I know there is at least one ground on the roof, at the back, near the rear light. I have no headliner in mine so i will look in a a few minutes...

It could easily be something else but that would be my first thought

Makes sense, i would verify all problem areas are on the same circuit (probably are from the sounds of it). As far as just backing a screw out, that may not work. If the wire casing is tore in places the wire could intermittently ground out when touching the body.

Well i disconnected my ground and it made no difference so i dont think that is that case. It could still be somethin up there for sure though. heres some pics of where all the wires run up there.

Both of the sets of wires come in from the drives side of the roof. one at the front to the rear view mirror. And one at the rear across to the light fixture.

Well, I tried the easy way... just spun the screws of the driver side sun visor to see if the grounding issue would go away. no luck.

Then I lost motivation. Thats enough for today. lol

Issue fixed... somehow I missed that the fuse was completely missing. Im not sure why the weird events occurred with the fuse missing... however its been replaced and everythimg is back to normal.
