I've been playing around with some different projects I've seen floating around online for this hobby cnc I've got. For a cheap machine it's pretty capable. I'm hoping to do up a few of these and sell them locally.

Yea tell me what image you want done and I'll see what it would take. The best are ones with simple outlines. I've ran into a few images that just don't turn out well

Yea that should turn out good. It may make it turn out better if I have it make several passes on the solid red areas so it will show up. Otherwise it will just be the outline

These are ready to go. Dan pm me when you're ready for the red wings one. I'm still working on yours matt. I was using a trial version of a program that converts jpg images into vectorized images that can be opened in autocad. My trial ran out and it's 350 bucks so... gotta hand draw them now. I've been spending too much money on programs lately...

Yeah but what kit? ive looked at them in the past And have too many projects going on to take it on. Was just curious. What software do you like best?
I always thought small home a cnc and small 3d printer would make an awesome pair.

Geometric robots, gr.3. I use Mach 3 and CamBam. If I were to do it again I would get the two by two table instead of 2 by 4. I'll never use 4 foot of table. I'm working on the 3d printer for Christmas!
Those are nice setups.
Its funny you say that, i wanted a bigger table for larger stuff like signs and wood. Sticker shock has it on the backlog. Hard to justify it.

Definitely jelly of the mill.

Here's the thing though, even if you would have a need to do something larger than 2 by 2, you can run it in sections and still do it on the smaller table. You have to be a little more clever about your fixtures but there are people that do it.

I still think the one with purple led is my favorite.
I've been trying to vectorize some images for some other guys projects and it's just not working. I'm not sure if that's the difference between the 50 dollar program or the $2500 program but I'd hate to find out its not

2x4 feet is the largest. Haven't tried painting the back black on the acrylic, that may look pretty cool.

You are taking images and "tracing" em with a design program like autocad/solidworks?

I've done it both ways. Tracing them takes a while. I use a program called raster to vector. If you start with a good quality image it will pick up the majority of the lines and all you have to do if manually edit some to finish

Can you machine any piece of acrylic? If so, I have a side window from my computer case I'd LOVE to have something engraved in so I could add some LED lighting to it for the same effect as you're getting with the signs and stuff.
