View Full Version : SBC Intake Porting

Currently run a Vic E single plane, best so far was a 10.2@140 but since car is down for HG, figured I may port the intake

Is there any worthwhile gains to having the intake hogged out?

Is your E untouched? They have tapered runners and are made with extra meat to be ported. The ports are tiny Vic Jr size as cast.

That sounds like a huge restriction and I would definitely port it. The E is only 1.90 x 1.10" as cast. My 210s measured 2.17 x 1.26" for reference but I don't think a hogged out stock casting would be that different.

I have yet to find a negative review on porting em, just wanna be sure its worth it on a boosted car.

I would think by opening up the intake you would at least make the same power with less boost. It certainly can't hurt

1.90 x 1.10 wow, my untouched LT1 intake is 2.04 x 1.12 and my LE1s are 2.06 x 1.25

I think it would only help. Increased VE, less turbulence, not enough additional volume or loss of airspeed to compromise spool. Definitely worth some power.

LE does some great portwork on the Victor E. I'm sure he can email you some pics of his work, he can really open them up.

I did have some before/after pics on my phone but I updated to IOS 9 and lost all my pics and contacts.

I might have some pics on my computer.

I'll check and see.

They REALLY get a lot of work done to them when fully porting them.

Yea, you showed me the pics at shootout Lloyd, was just curious if anyone had some similar combo real life feedback perhaps.

Intake will be headed your way regardless though :lol:

Man, I sure don't.

I know it really wakes up the N/A and nitrous cars by doing the work.

Figure my car is just a NA car at a different altitude, should be similar.
