Hey guys, new to the forum, recently i got a 94 383 trans am in a trade and have been fixing it up.

I recently ordered a slp cold air intake and an aftermarket elbow, i already had an aftermarket elbow but no rubber parts to install it and no plug for the sensor right before the throttle body. Anyways, i got a deal on the slp and elbow ($115 shipped).

I noticed on my stock elbow, its got the sensor by the tb and a line coming from below water pump that goes into the stock elbow as well, where would that line go on an aftermarket elbow? Ive heard you drill a hole for it?

My next question is i heard you only have that line if its a vented opti which should be 95-97 right?

Also, i need the plug that holds the sensor right by the tb, where could i find on? I already found where to get replacement rubbers and clamps to install the elbow.

Thanks, any input helps.

P.s. supposedly it's a lt4 383 but the engine build paperwork doesnt say lt4. It does have a red intake but i know people paint those. Also needs a trans rebuild and some misc parts, its mostly done just need to get trans rebuilt and the couple small things finished (header gaskets, rotors+pads, cat back to complete full exhaust)

Drill the elbow if necessary, put a tiny grommet in the elbow and install opti vent there. As for the sensor it sounds like you're talking about the IAT, small two pin sensor and wire connector. You can do the same for it, drill and grommet. Grommets should be available at most parts stores.

Since there is no factory LT4 383, someone built it. They could have done a vented Opti conversion, I did on my 94. Or, they could have kept the unvented Opti, but installed an MSD cap, which does have vent connections.

Shoebox has good info on the Opti vent system:
