View Full Version : Making a custom exhaust

I'm looking at making a custom exhaust off my Ypipe. Thinking of a single 3.5" over the axle to a spintech muffler, with a hidden 3.5" single exit dumped by the bumper. Anyone know about how much pipe, more specifically what bends, I'll need? I was thinking a 45* and two 90* to the muffler, then just a single 90* out of the muffler.
Thanks

It'd probably be more cost effective to just buy a mufflex 3.5" single and it'll most likely fit better.

I agree, prebent will probably be the less grief. You could also try mimicking the bends of a stock exhaust or another option is dumping it before the rear.

This I built my own Y and 3.5 exhaust guarantee the mufflex was cheaper plus the aggravation of doing it. If your really set on doing it I could probably dig up a parts list of the bends I used.

I built a custom 3" true dual over the axle setup for my car. It's a colossal pain. Save yourself the grief and get the Mufflex kit. I'm still not 100% happy with mine, mostly ground clearance. The sound is wicked though.

The only reason I haven't bought the Mufflex is because I really want stainless.

Order one from them in stainless? Honestly unless ur going for show car shine underneath I don't see the point. I had a used by 4 different cars loudmouth that was still solid after being driven in jersey salt for over 10 years.

Ehhhh, thats a hit or miss. I have seen some horrible rusting of regular steel exhaust from other local cars.
If you got the means and money, go for SS it will last longer.

Loudmouth is stainless, so that doesn't really help your point.
