It's either gears or I throw nitrous on it, I'm leaning towards gears for now.
It's an A4 so it has 3.23's, looking into 4.10's.
How big of a change can I expect? Both around town and at the track.
Car currently only had some flowmaster Cat Back but will have a electric cutout and cat delete soon along with the EGR/AIR Delete.
K&N CAI is also coming and a tune of course.
I know everything says 3.73's for A4's and 4.10's for M6's but hey it sounds like more fun and I've driven many barely streetable cars on the street and never had a problem with them, actually enjoyed it.
Just wondering how much of a difference it will be going from 3.23's to 4.10's.

I heard 3.73s r best for an a4, im lookin into it myself. With 4.10s youd be revin high rpms on the highway

The difference will be huge. I have 4.10s in mine, but its not a daily driver. I only drive it to the track and once or twice a month to the local hang out. Having said that they are a bit much for any kind of street use, and you can totally forget about any kind of roll racing.
I wouldn't higher than the 3.73 if you drive quite a bit of highway. Have you considered a 3.90 gear?
Always a consideration.

i went from 3.23's to 3.73"s and on the highway going 65 im at about 2500rpm. as soon as i redo my rear end i will be doing a 4.10 bc its not a DD.

I think you will enjoy the 3.73's much more with your A4. It will still be a big enough change from the 3.23's. you'd be fine around the city with the 4.10's but IMO any type of highway driving wouldn't be practical at all

Do you have a TC yet? if not, get that first, you will get more out of that than a set of gears.
I have 4.10s in my 10bolt with A4, I like them but I do have a PT4400.

I bought my car with 4.10s and a shiftkit. Im also an a4, and I really dont have any complaints. Cruising with the car is a blast but on the highway im about 2200rpm at 60, which may be off because i dont think the speedo was recalibrated with the gear change. But if you cruise more around town about the 5-45 range, youll love them, if your a highway guy then you might want something higher.

4.10's might be much for an A4. 3.73's with a good TC should be about right. I have 4.10's but I also have an M6 which IMO is perfect for my setup. On the highway at 65 the RPM's are around 1800.

Yeah, I agree, 3.73s would definitley be better for a a4 car, if I had a pick I would put in 3.73s but since the 4.10s were already in ill live with them for now.

It comes down to you. If your on the highway a fair bit I wouldn't. If you daily drive it and are worried about fuel economy I wouldn't.
If it's a weekend toy or you only drive 2-3 miles to work everyday and want some performance, why not?
I personally don't plan on investing any $$$ in my 10 bolt, but autos are easier on the rear ends than 6 speeds.
