Car runs excellent. It has good power. However every once in a while it will just shut off and won't start back up for a bit. Usually when I'm driving and it'll tick me off the most. It starts later no problem and drives perfect again. I put a Summit opti on it a few months ago. I also just replaced the coil and ICM to try to solve the problem to no avail. Is the opti just giving up the ghost already?

I had the same prob ahwhile back and found out it was a loose coil wire where it plugs into the top of the opti .
Ours was the ECM. It would get hot car would die.Cool down it would start right up run like a champ then act like it was stavering for gas.

How did you know for sure it was the ECM? I'll check the coil wire going into the opti when I get home.

check your battery connections. ive had loose connections in the past that would cause similar issues.

Well, car runs a lot better now. The GM Opti > Summit Opti. Car starts crazy fast now. I still need to get coolant so I didn't really go drive it to see if it solved the dying problem. I should know tomorrow night.

Runs like a raped ape again. Opti did the trick. It didn't need the MSD Blaster coil or the ICM I put on but at least now I know the ENTIRE ignition system is new. I realized I made the mistake. I didn't put anything on the threads of the waterpump last time I did the Opti. $277 mistake.
